Aspects herein are directed to a knit sock having a leg portion and an integrally knit ankle welt extending around a circumference of the leg portion and positioned at a lower end of the leg portion. The knit sock further includes an integrally knit tab located at a back aspect of the ankle welt.

Aspects herein are directed to a knit structure used to form a knit article where the knit structure can be adjusted to provide zoned cushioning, zoned insulation, zoned fit, zoned permeability/breathability features, and/or zoned tactile feedback features. The knit structure has a repeating pattern of a first number of knit courses having a first yarn knit with a first basic knit stitch and a second number of knit courses, where within each knit course of the second number of knit courses, the first yarn is knit in a repeating pattern having a first number of knit stitches knit with a second basic knit stitch and a second number of float stitches knit with a float stitch to form float areas.

Aspects herein are directed to a sock and methods for forming the sock on a circular knitting machine. The sock in accordance with aspects herein having a plurality of toe-anchor knit courses that form a toe anchor that divides a toe-end opening of the sock into a first toe-end opening and a second toe-end opening by extending across the toe-end opening from a dorsal portion of the toe-end opening to a plantar portion of the toe-end opening. Concepts provided are directed to a sock having a toe seam that is primarily located on a lateral side of the sock. The sock may comprise a foot locating feature to ensure that the wearer dons a right footed sock on a right foot and a left footed sock on a left foot so that the toe seam is localized to the lateral side of the wearer's foot when the sock is worn by the wearer.

Present aspects hereof are directed to a circular knitted garment, such as a sock, or a sleeve. The garment has at least a first segment with multiple knit courses, and a second segment having the same number of multiple knit courses as the first segment. The garment has an aperture separating the first segment and the second segment, where the aperture is occupied by a single strand of yarn extending from the first segment to the second segment. The first and second segments are formed by changing the circular knitting direction from one course to the next course in a reciprocating fashion, until the last course is formed, wherein the single strand of yarn moves from the last course in the current segment to the first course in a next, adjacent segment.

Aspects herein are directed to a sock having an integrally knit, two-layered tab positioned interior to a collar of the sock, where the collar defines an opening for a wearer's foot. By positioning the tab interior to the collar, the tab can be used to assist the wearer in donning and/or doffing the sock by acting as the primary structure by which the wearer pulls an elastic collar around the wearer's foot when donning the sock.

The medial triangular ankle panel has a first medial vertex near the rear, top portion of the foot area, a second medial vertex near the top of the heel area, and a third medial vertex below and between the first and second medial vertices. The lateral triangular ankle panel has a first lateral vertex near the rear, top portion of the foot area, a second lateral vertex near the top of the heel area, and a third lateral vertex below and between the first and second lateral vertices. The sides of the medial and lateral triangular panels extending between the respective first and second medial and lateral vertices define an opening of the garment for a foot.

A knit garment having locating features is provided. A first knit area of the garment is spaced from a second knit area. A knit locating feature is disposed between the first and the second areas. This locating feature is defined by an elastic border that surrounds a knit pocket that is less elastic than the border.
