Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support demodulation reference signal sharing across user equipments (UEs) supporting over the air (OTA) digital pre-distortion (DPD). For example, the described techniques provide for demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sharing across UEs supporting OTA DPD. A network entity may share a full DMRS pattern with multiple frequency-division multiplexed (FDMed) UEs. Based on the shared DMRS pattern, the UEs may evaluate the non-linear impairment by estimating non-linearity (NL) compensation function coefficients. Each of the UEs may indicate, to the network entity, their estimated NL compensation function coefficients. The network entity may apply an updated NL compensation function based on the NL compensation function coefficients from the various UEs and transmit a downlink transmission according to the updated NL compensation function.

Demodulation reference signal sharing across user equipments (UEs) supporting over the air digital pre-distortion

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support signaling of network entities' phase noise inter-carrier interference (ICI) order for reducing user equipment (UE) phase noise cancelation complexity. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes obtaining a power spectral density (PSD) measurement of a phase noise mask of a network entity prior to deployment in the field. The network entity, after deployment, measures an integrated residual PSD measurement per candidate phase noise bandwidth size and transmits these integrated residual PSD measurements to a UE. The UE may then use the integrated residual PSD measurements to estimate phase noise for cancelation from network entity transmissions. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Signaling of network entities' phase noise inter-carrier interference order for reducing user equipment phase noise cancellation complexity

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a frequency dependent residual side band (FDRSB) training signal via one or more time resources. The UE may transmit an indication of network node FDRSB correction information that is based at least in part on the FDRSB training signal. The UE may receive a communication, reception of the communication comprising applying a UE FDRSB correction that is based at least in part on the FDRSB training signal. Frequency dependent residual side band training signals

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first measurement report to a network entity which includes a set of beam measurements corresponding to a set of beams of a beam codebook. The network entity may then perform a set of weighted measurement calculations to determine a first serving beam that is different from each of the set of beams of the existing beam codebook. The network entity may then transmit a first serving beam indication that instructs the UE to begin monitoring the first serving beam. The UE may then transmit a second measurement report to the network entity that includes a second set of beam measurements which includes measurements for the first serving beam. The network entity and the UE may then communicate via the first serving beam based on the measurements for the first serving beam satisfying a threshold.

Techniques for continuous beam scanning for integrated lens antennas

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a frequency dependent residual sideband (FDRSB) indication that indicates an average FDRSB power level associated with at least one transmission antenna of a network node. The UE may receive a communication from the network node, the receiving comprising demodulating the communication based on a state of an FDRSB correction function of the UE, the state of the FDRSB correction function being based on at least one of the average FDRSB power level or an estimated total noise level. Numerous other aspects are described.

Frequency dependent residual sideband indications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, an indication of a slot to be associated with precoder estimation, the indication of the slot including an indication of a first precoder and one or more parameters associated with the slot. The UE may receive, from the network node and during the slot, a first one or more reference signals associated with estimating a physical channel using the first precoder and a second one or more reference signals associated with estimating a second precoder using the estimated physical channel. The UE may receive, from the network node, one or more signals based on the second precoder. Numerous other aspects are described.

Precoder estimation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may generate a set of beamforming weights for a lens antenna associated with the network entity. Further, the network entity may generate the set of beamforming weights based on a convergence location corresponding to a target coverage area of a cell supported by the network entity. The convergence location may be based on the target coverage area and on one or more parameters of the lens antenna. As such, the network entity may transmit, via a set of antenna elements of the lens antenna, a signal to a user equipment (UE) in accordance with the set of beamforming weights for the lens antenna such that the signal may be spatially distributed within the target coverage area of the cell.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein provide for a user equipment (UE) to determine a channel estimation associated with a downlink channel. In some examples, a network entity may determine a projection matrix and may transmit, to the UE, control signaling indicating the projection matrix. The UE may determine the channel estimation associated with the downlink channel based on the projection matrix. The UE may receive data signaling from the network entity, and the UE may demodulate the data signaling according to the channel estimation that is based at least in part on the projection matrix.

Techniques for downlink channel estimation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication that the UE is to apply a digital-post distortion (DPoD) procedure to a received signal to reduce non-linearities of the received signal. In some examples, the UE may determine one or more autocorrelation values for a power delay profile (PDP) of a channel, receive an indication of a matrix, and identify coefficients (e.g., b-coefficients) for use in the DPoD procedure based on multiplying the autocorrelation values and the matrix. Alternatively, a network entity may determine the autocorrelation values indicate them to the UE for use in identifying the coefficients. In some other cases, the network entity may use the autocorrelation values and the matrix to determine the coefficients and then may indicate the coefficients to the UE. The UE may apply the DPoD procedure to the received signal using the coefficients.

Calculating coefficients in low-complexity digital post-distortion procedures

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may apply a precoding operation to a downlink physical channel. The network node may obtain a plurality of coefficients associated with a non-linearity of the downlink physical channel in accordance with estimating a cross-correlation of a plurality of power delay profiles associated with the precoding operation. The network node may precode a physical downlink shared channel communication in accordance with a result of the precoding operation. The network node may transmit the plurality of coefficients via a physical downlink control channel communication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Coefficient estimation for non-linearity cancellation

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may precode communications with a precoding configured to improve non-linearity (NL). Some aspects more specifically relate to a user equipment (UE) obtaining power amplifier (PA) NL coefficients associated with NL of PAs of a network node. The UE may transmit an indication of the PA NL coefficients to the network node, which may use the indication to select precoding configured to improve reception of communications transmitted with PA NL or to improve decoding of communications transmitted using the precoding.

Precoding for non-linearity correction

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for adapting or considering a receiver gain when using super-high order modulations for data transmissions. In one aspect, a network entity may transmit a tracking reference signal (TRS) in a first slot adjacent in time to a second slot allocated for one or more data transmissions associated with a high order modulation. A user equipment (UE) may receive the TRS and may adjust a receiver gain based on the TRS before receiving the one or more data transmissions associated with the high order modulation in the second slot. In another aspect, a UE may indicate (e.g., based on a receiver gain at the UE) a type of slot (e.g., shortened slot) or a maximum number of slots in which a network entity may transmit data transmissions with a high modulation order.

Automatic gain control for super-high order modulations

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques may provide for an adaptive digital post-distortion (DPoD) procedure and reporting of modulation and coding scheme (MCS) indices for communications between a user equipment (UE) and a network entity. The UE may select a kernel from a set of kernels indicated by the network entity for a DPoD procedure based on a target error vector magnitude (EVM). Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may determine a limitation for an MCS index for the network entity to use in communications with the UE based on a power limitation of the UE and an EVM associated with the MCS. The network entity and the UE may accordingly communicate using the MCS limitation requested by the UE and the determined DPoD kernel.

Adaptive digital post-distortion and modulation and coding scheme index reporting

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a request for a data transmission that includes multiple subsets of data each associated with a different constellation granularity. In response to the request, the base station may encode the data transmission using multiple different constellation granularities and may transit the encoded data transmission to the UE. For example, the UE may receive the data transmission including a first subset of data that was encoded by the base station using a first constellation granularity and a second subset of data that was encoded by the base station using a second constellation granularity. The UE may then iteratively estimate phase-noises associated with respective subsets of data and perform phase-noise correction operations on the entire data transmission based on the estimated phase-noises.

Iterative phase-noise cancellation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may monitor for a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) according to a default precoder, where the DMRS is associated with channel state feedback (CSF) information. The UE may perform a channel estimation based on the DMRS, and transmit an uplink message indicating one or more candidate precoders, where the one or more candidate precoders are selected based on the channel estimation. The UE may receive a downlink message indicating a precoder of the one or more candidate precoders based on transmitting the uplink message. The UE may then communicate with a network entity in accordance with the indicated precoder based on receiving the downlink message.
