A transceiver may include a transmit path and a receive path that are each coupled to a radio frequency (RF) interface, and a self-interference canceller (SIC). The SIC is coupled between the transmit and the receive paths. The SIC is configured to cancel a self-interference signal from a received signal on the receive path based on a transmit signal on the transmit path.

An antenna module and communication device containing the antenna module are disclosed. The antenna module is disposed in a metal cavity. The antenna module includes a switched beam mm-wave antenna array having radiating elements separated by less than a wavelength of the radiating elements. The array is fed by a single transceiver chain. The array is disposed at the focal length of a low-profile mm-wave lens configured to steer the beam. A sub-10 GHz antenna is disposed closer to the opening of the cavity than the lens. The lens is a Fresnel Zone Plate lens having a focal length of less than about the wavelength of the beam, or a Saucer lens having shells of different refractive indexes and having a profile that is more than 6 times smaller than a Luneburg lens with a same focal length.

Systems and methods of reducing SNR and increasing bandwidth of received signals are disclosed. LNAs receive signals from an antenna via a common input matching network. The amplified signals are downconverted, filtered and digitized before being coherently combined at a DSP. Depending on the LO frequencies used by mixers in the different receiver paths, the combined signals reduce the SNR when the LO frequencies are the same by reducing the non-correlated noise introduced by the LNAs or increase the bandwidth processed when the LO frequencies are different. The bandwidths are contiguous or non-contiguous.

A radio-frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) configured to generate a synthesized clock includes a phase locked loop (PLL) configured to divide down a clock to a non-harmonic frequency; a plurality of multi-phase injection locked clock multipliers (ILCM) directly connected to a plurality of transceiver chains; wherein the PLL is further configured to distribute a divided down clock to at least one of the plurality of multi-phase ILCMs; wherein the plurality of multiphase ILCMs are configured to select a phase of and multiply the divided down clock to synthesize a desired harmonic frequency of the clock and suppress an undesired harmonic frequency of the clock.

Methods and devices for mitigating pulling in a fractional local oscillator signal generation scheme

A communication device may include a millimeter wave (mm-wave) antenna array having antenna elements, a mm-wave element (e.g. lens), and one or more transceivers (e.g. first and second transceivers). The mm-wave lens may be configured to adjust the first beam and the second beam as the first and second beams pass through the mm-wave lens. The first transceiver can selectively couple to the antenna elements, the first transceiver being configured to drive a first selected antenna element of the antenna elements to transmit a beam from the selected first antenna element. The second transceiver may selectively couple to the antenna elements, the second transceiver being configured to drive a second selected antenna element of the antenna elements to transmit a second beam from the selected second antenna element.

A communication device is described comprising a first antenna, a second antenna and a third antenna; a first transceiver configured to communicate using at least the first antenna; a second transceiver configured to communicate using at least the second antenna; and a controller configured to determine whether the third antenna is to be used by the first transceiver or the second transceiver based on a selection criterion and configured to control the first transceiver to communicate using the first antenna and the third antenna if the controller has determined that the third antenna is to be used by the first transceiver and to control the second transceiver to communicate using the second antenna and the third antenna if the controller has determined that the third antenna is to be used by the second transceiver.

Communication device and method for performing radio communication

Embodiments of a reference path circuit and communication device are generally described herein. The reference path circuit may include an injection locked multiplier (ILM) and a group of one or more buffer amplifiers. The ILM may receive a sinusoidal reference signal from a reference oscillator at a reference frequency. The ILM may generate a sinusoidal ILM output signal at an ILM output frequency that is based on an integer multiple of the reference frequency. The integer multiple of the reference frequency may be within a locking range of the ILM that may be based on a resonant frequency of the ILM. The group of one or more buffer amplifiers may generate an output clock signal for input to the frequency synthesizer. The output clock signal may be based on a sign function of the ILM output signal.

One example embodiment includes validity check circuitry configured to check a transmission power for a Bluetooth signal against a first threshold transmission power, a Bluetooth Power Amplifier, and a WLAN power amplifier. A switching network controlled by the validity check circuitry and configured to couple the Bluetooth input to Bluetooth power amplifier input when the transmission power for the Bluetooth signal is above the first threshold transmission power and to couple the Bluetooth signal with a WLAN signal for input to the shared WLAN power amplifier when the transmission power for the Bluetooth signal is less than the first threshold transmission power.

Devices and methods for transmit concurrency by conditioned signal combining

Embodiments of apparatuses, articles, methods, and systems for a synthesizer with an extended multi-modulus prescaler are generally described herein. Described embodiments include an offset controller that provides an offset to a first counter value and a multi-modulus prescaler to implement a first modulated division number based on the first counter value and a second counter value. The offset controller may compensate for the offset to provide a second modulated division number based on the first modulated division number. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
