A system, in certain embodiments, includes a joint and an energy harvesting system. The energy harvesting system includes an energy conversion system configured to convert kinetic energy from movement of the joint into electrical energy.

The disclosed embodiments include a ball valve seal having a main body and a seal finger extending from the main body, wherein the seal finger is configured to extend from the main body and contact and flex against an outer surface of a ball body of the ball valve seal when the ball valve is assembled.

An apparatus and method for controlling fluid flow in a blowout preventer. In one embodiment, an apparatus for connecting fluid lines includes a socket fluid connector and a plug fluid connector. Each connector includes a flow channel. The plug fluid connector is detachably connectable to the socket fluid connector at a connection end of the plug and socket fluid connectors such that the flow channels align. Each of the socket and plug fluid connectors includes a check valve in the flow channel. The check valve is configured to prevent fluid flow through the connector flow channels while the plug and socket fluid connectors are not connected, and to enable bidirectional fluid flow through the connector flow channels while plug and socket fluid connectors are connected.

Apparatus and method for connecting fluid lines

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed toward a system including a trochoidal rotary device. The trochoidal rotary device includes a housing comprising an inner surface, a rotor having at least one bearing recess, a shaft eccentrically mounted to the rotor, wherein the shaft and the rotor are integrated with one another, and at least one bearing disposed between the bearing recess of the rotor and the inner surface of the hollow housing, wherein at least one of the inner surface of the hollow housing, the bearing recess of the rotor, and the at least one bearing comprise a bearing interface comprises a surface treatment.

Trochoidal rotary device

An artificial heart with a centrifugal pump is disclosed. In one embodiment, the artificial heart includes an impeller disposed in a housing. The impeller is configured to rotate to circulate blood through the housing. The impeller may include a set of blades on a first side of the impeller and a set of vanes on a second side opposite the first. The blades on the first side and the vanes on the second side allow blood circulation from both the first and the second sides of the impeller. The artificial heart may also or instead include a diffuser with adjustable vanes that enable variation in the output characteristics of the artificial heart pump. Various other artificial hearts, pumps, systems, and methods, including control systems and methods, are also disclosed.

Artificial heart system

In at least some embodiments, an apparatus includes a hydraulic directional control manifold and a plurality of electric piezopumps. The apparatus also includes an electric piezopump controller that operates the plurality of electric piezopumps in varying combinations to provide generation and directional control of hydraulic power to linear hydraulic actuators using localized closed-loop hydraulic fluid.
