A conformable electromagnetic radiation suppression cover comprising one or more absorbing material(s) and a sealant. The cover conforms to the shape of a reflecting structure due to forces internal to the absorbing material(s) when the cover is subjected to an agent external to the cover. The absorber comprises dissipative particles bound in a conformable polymeric binder. The sealant is positioned to seal the conformable cover to the reflecting structure, and provides environmental protection to the structure and preferably better adhesion between the cover and the structure. In a preferred embodiment, the volume of the cover is varied before shrinkage to produce a cover thickness in the direction of incident radiation, as measured after shrinkage, which produces a preselected resonant frequency for the cover. The cover may include a conductive surface, such as a metallic foil. Impedance matching materials are preferred but not required.

Electromagnetic radiation suppression cover

An electromagnetic radiation suppression covering conformable to a corresponding selected structure through reducing the extent of a surface dimension therein and containing one or more absorptive kinds of particles in a sheet of a corresponding thickness including such particles as iron oxides with adsorbed surface layers, such covering being formed through extruding a mixture of selected particles and binding material.

A cartridge for sealing solid structures or for anchoring bolts or the like therein, having a multi-component resin system with at least one component in a pressure rupturable container, a liquid-permeable mixer assembly at one end of said container, and means for selectively rupturing said container adjacent the mixer assembly, and processes for the use thereof.

A method of sealing a hole or anchoring a rod therein by rupturing multipart curable resin components placed in the hole. At least one of the components is placed in pressure fragmentable macrocapsules which form flake-like fragments upon rupture. The flake-like fragments serve as static mixers and cause turbulence thus initiating mixing and curing of the components without requiring rotation of the rod or other mixing device.

Reinforcing or sealing solid structures or for anchoring bolts therein

A process for reinforcing or sealing solid structures or for anchoring bolts using macrocapsules which contain at least one part of a multi-part curable polymer system and which fracture under pressure to produce flake-like fragments that aid in mixing the components of the multi-part curable polymer system. The macrocapsules can be conveniently made a part of a sealing cartridge for ease of use.
