A clamping assembly for hoses which are connected between a tractor and piston-cylinders on an attached implement such as a backhoe. The clamping assembly includes a base and at least one releasable clamping element. Each hose is strung through an opening in the base and abutted against an arcuate wall. The clamping element also includes an arcuate wall which engages the opposite side of the hose. The clamping element is secured in position by a bolt fastener. The clamping element includes opposed upstanding lugs which are spaced apart far enough to permit the head of the bolt fastener to slide between them. After the head of the bolt is positioned between the lugs, it cannot be turned, and therefore, a nut may be conveniently tightened on the bolt without the need for an additional tool to hold the head of the bolt. Further, angled surfaces on the base and clamping element provide for clamping or wedging action as the bolt is tightened.

Clamping assembly

A temperature compensating device is disclosed for use in a filter contaminant warning system in a tractor or similar machine. The temperature compensating device is hydraulically connected between the hydraulic filter element inlet and the pressure responsive filter contaminant indicator switch in the warning system. Pressurized fluid from the inlet side of the filter element enters the temperature compensating device through an elongated capillary, and the fluid is discharged simultaneously through a port to the filter contaminant indicator switch and through an orifice to a reservoir. When the fluid is cold and has high viscosity, a substantial part of the total fluid pressure drop between the filter inlet and indicator switch occurs in the capillary portion of the compensating device. The remaining portion of the pressure loss occurs in the orifice. After the fluid temperature has increased, thereby reducing viscosity, the major part of the pressure drop between the filter inlet and indicator switch occurs in the orifice, and the remaining part of the pressure loss occurs in the capillary. The compensating device reduces the pressure at the indicating switch when the fluid is highly viscous or cold and increases the pressure at the switch when the fluid is less viscous. Thus, the temperature compensating device prevents the warning system from switching on falsely due to fluid viscosity changes when a filter restriction does not exist.

Hay and similar crop materials can be efficiently compacted and formed into pellets or cubes through a closely coordinated sequence of operations in which the hay picked up from the field is deposited into a feed bin, then advanced by gravity feed uniformly onto a cross feed conveyor which advances the hay through a compaction stage in which the hay is precompressed to bale density, and thereafter it is continuously advanced between a pair of counter-rotating press wheels which further compress and form the hay into dense pellets or cubes.
