A row cleaner connected to a strip till machine clears mulch and other debris in strip or low till planting. A row cleaner frame assembly includes a pair of row cleaner arms and a pair of clearing wheels having toe-in alignment. The pair of row cleaner arms share a common plane and are pivotally connected at a pair of pivot points common or close to the rotational axis of a cutting disc. The cutting disc is disposed intermediate the pair of row cleaner arms. The row cleaner arms are configured to maintain the clearing wheels in close-proximity to the cutting disc to provide stretch and cut row clearing operation. An actuator pivotally adjusts the row cleaner assembly relative to the cutting disc. A pivot limiter restricts pivotal travel of the row cleaner. A row closing section lever adjusts toe and/or camber of a closing wheel.

Row cleaner and row closer assemblies for strip till planters

A removably installable apparatus and system for managing weight transfer along a tractor drawn tool bar for use in row planting systems is provided. The planter weight transfer system comprises first and second bolt-on bracket assemblies, each bolt-on bracket assembly comprising a primary plate and a secondary plate secured to each other and to a row planter tool bar by a set of fasteners. Additionally, the bolt-on brackets are joined at the top by an actuator which applies a force on the brackets.

System, method, and apparatus for planter weight transfer

An apparatus and system for positioning a trailing wheel behind a row planting unit in a row planting system and for transferring weight between a row closing unit with row closing wheels and a trailing wheel while providing for independent movement of the trailing wheel and row closing wheels is provided. A trailing or firming wheel assembly is positioned behind a row closing unit with a set of row closing wheels. A cam-based depth limiting system provides for a depth stop and depth limiting adjustments while providing for independent movement of the trailing wheel and set of row closing wheels.

Two-stage row closing assembly

An removably installable apparatus and system for managing weight transfer along a tractor drawn tool bar for use in row planting systems is provided. The planter weight transfer system comprises first and second bolt-on bracket assemblies, each bolt-on bracket assembly comprising a primary plate and a secondary plate secured to each other and to a row planter tool bar by a set of fasteners. Additionally, the bolt-on brackets are joined at the top by an actuator which applies a force on the brackets.

Row cleaning/closing wheel

A closing wheel frame assembly comprising a closing wheel frame, a closing wheel assembly, and a lever arm adjustment assembly. A retaining pin secures a lever arm in a desired position to set an angle or orientation of the closing wheel assembly relative to the frame, seed furrow (trench or trough), or soil surface. Operation of the lever arm changes the angle or orientation of the closing wheel assembly relative to the frame, seed furrow (trench or trough), or soil surface.

Adjustable row closing assemblies

A row cleaning/closing wheel having debris removing and/or furrow closing performance with complimentary left and right cleaning/closing wheel pairs having a sloped body portion at an angle relative to a hub base for cleaning and/or closing operation during row planting. The sloped body portion and the hub base may form a continuous curve from the center of the hub base to a set of teeth on the outer edge of the sloped body portion. The row cleaning wheel for use with a floating row cleaner and/or closing arm assemblies attached to a row planter during planting operation.

A row planting unit closing system, the system comprising: a first stage closing unit adapted to be attached to a row planting unit and comprising: a first stage frame; and a set of at least one row closing wheel having a closing angle orientation non-perpendicular relative to the ground; and wherein the first stage frame is attached at a first end to the row planting unit, the first stage frame comprising a linkage mechanism for setting a toe in angle orientation of the set of at least one row closing wheel relative to the first stage frame.

An apparatus and system for adjustably controlling the position and depth of row closer wheels in no-till planting applications, the apparatus comprising a frame, a piston movably secured at the top to the frame, upper and lower parallel arms disposed about the piston and movably secured at one end to the frame and at the other end to a hub stem, and a set of piston arms each movably secured at the top to one of the upper or lower parallel arms and at the other end to the bottom of the piston. A closing wheel assembly having a closing wheel frame and a set of closing wheels pivotally mounted to a lever on a single axle assembly allows the operator to change the angle at which the closing wheels intersect the ground surface during use. Accordingly, as the angle of the lever is manipulated, the angle of the closing wheel pivotally mounted to that lever changes in the vertical and/or horizontal dimensions.

An apparatus and system for adjustably controlling the position and depth of row cleaner wheels in no-till planting applications, the apparatus comprising a frame, a piston movably secured at the top to the frame, first and second sets of parallel arms disposed on either side of the piston and movably secured at one end to the frame and at the other end to a hub stem, and a set of piston arms each movably secured at the top to one of the first or second set of parallel arms and at the other end to the bottom of the piston.

A wireless control system may include a controller and portable computing device. The controller may be configured to communicate with the portable computing device so that an operator may set a specific value and/or parameters in which the hydraulic cylinder may operate. In an aspect, the hydraulic cylinder may be engaged with a row cleaner assembly, and in another aspect it may be engaged with a closing wheel, and in yet another aspect it may be engaged with a furrow forming assembly.

A floating row cleaner assembly comprising a tool arm row cleaner mount, a row cleaner frame mounting plate, a row cleaner frame pivotally attached to the tool arm row cleaner mount and the row cleaner frame mounting plate. The periphery of the u-shaped row cleaner frame is composed of a combination of angled and curved portions to reduce the length and width of the frame to allow row cleaners to be used in combination with a coulter, or other tillage tool, and planter row unit spacing below 30 inches, while allowing necessary clearance between the row cleaner(s) and the coulter for terrain responsive operation.

Compact floating row cleaner

An adjustable row cleaner includes a row cleaner assembly that functions to clear material from the ground surface. The adjustable row cleaner includes, in one embodiment, a connector that is in mechanical communication with both a row cleaner frame, to which row cleaner wheels may be pivotally mounted, and a first end of a translator member. The translator member may pivot with respect to the row unit frame and/or row unit sub-frame about a translator member pivot. The position of a translator member second end may be manipulated, thereby adjusting the maximum depth to which the row cleaner wheels penetrate the ground surface. The adjustable row cleaner may be powered or manually adjusted, and the position of the row cleaner wheels may be monitored and automatically adjusted via a control system.
