A stand mixer has a vertical direction, a transverse direction, and a lateral direction and includes a motor, a head comprising a central shaft operably coupled to the motor and rotating about a central axis, and an offset shaft operably coupled to the motor and rotating about an offset axis, and a mixing assembly comprising a transmission assembly mechanically coupling the central shaft and the offset shaft, and a mixer attachment mechanically coupled to the transmission assembly, wherein the central shaft and the offset shaft provide an input motion and the transmission assembly generates an output motion from input motion, the mixer attachment moving in the output motion, and wherein the input motion is different from the output motion.

An icemaker appliance and method for reducing total dissolved solids is provided. The icemaker appliance includes a closed loop circuit including a conduit fluidly coupling together a water reservoir, an icemaking vessel, and an ice reservoir. A pump is configured to flow water through the conduit. A controller is configured to selectively operate the pump and the icemaking vessel. The controller is configured to allow a temperature at the icemaking vessel to be above freezing temperature of water at the conduit; and operate the pump to flow water through the closed loop circuit.

A stand mixer includes a casing forming a base, a column extending from the base, and a motor housing connected to the column, the casing including an air inlet and an air outlet; a motor assembly provided within the motor housing, the motor assembly including a motor shaft; and a cooling fan provided adjacent to the air inlet, the cooling fan being rotatable about a fan shaft. The fan shaft is separate from the motor shaft and the cooling fan is operated independently from the motor assembly.

The mold body may define an axial direction and a mold cavity within which the sculpted ice nugget is shaped. The mold body may include a first mold segment and a second mold segment. The first mold segment may define a first cavity portion of the mold cavity. The second mold segment may be movably positioned above the first mold segment along the axial direction. The second mold segment may define a second cavity portion of the mold cavity. The electric heater may be disposed within the mold body in conductive thermal engagement with the mold cavity.

A stand-alone ice making appliance is provided. The stand-alone ice making appliance may include an outer casing, a water tank, a pump, an ice maker, and a container. The outer casing may define an internal cavity that includes a primary opening. The water tank may define a storage volume to receive water. The pump may be in fluid communication with the storage volume of the water tank to actively flow water therefrom. The ice maker may in fluid communication with the storage volume of the water tank to receive water therefrom. The container may be disposed within the internal cavity. The container may include an insulated sidewall positioned across the primary opening and at least partially defining a storage volume to receive ice from the ice maker.

Stand-alone ice making appliance

Stand-alone ice making appliances and methods of controlling stand-alone ice making appliances are provided. An appliance includes a container defining a first storage volume for receipt of ice, a water tank defining a second storage volume for receipt of water, and a pump in fluid communication with the second storage volume. The appliance further includes an ice maker which is in fluid communication with the pump for receiving water from the pump. The appliance further includes an off-time detector configured to provide a signal indicative of whether the ice maker has been unpowered for a time period sufficient to begin ice production without overheating.

An appliance and method of operation is provided. The appliance may include an outer casing, a user interface, and a controller. The outer casing may define an enclosed volume. The user interface may be mounted to the outer casing to include a light projector and a translucent diffuser disc. The light projector may be positioned within the enclosed volume and include a plurality of discrete segmented light emitting diodes to each selectively emit one or more discrete light emissions. The translucent diffuser disc may be positioned between the light projector and the outer casing. The diffuser disc may include a continuous outer surface aligned with the light projector to display the one or more discrete light emissions as a visually continuous pattern. The controller may be operably connected with the light projector and configured to determine the visually continuous pattern displayed at the continuous outer surface.

Appliance user interface and method of operation

A stand-alone ice making appliance and method of operation is provided. The stand-alone ice making appliance may include a container defining a first storage volume for receipt of ice, a water storage volume in fluid communication with the container to receive water from the container, an ice maker, a pump, and an ultraviolet light source. The ice maker may include an auger at least partially surrounded by a casing. The casing may be in fluid communication with the water storage volume to receive water from the water storage volume. The ice maker may further include a sealed refrigeration system in thermal communication with the casing. The pump may be in fluid communication with water storage volume for actively flowing water from the water storage volume to the ice maker. The ultraviolet light source may face the water storage volume to selectively direct ultraviolet light into the water storage volume.

Stand-alone ice making appliances are provided. An appliance includes a container defining a first storage volume for receipt of ice, a water tank defining a second storage volume for receipt of water, and a pump in fluid communication with the second storage volume. The appliance further includes an ice maker which is in fluid communication with the pump for receiving water from the pump. The appliance further includes a filter, the filter including a filter medium operable to remove contaminants from water flowing through the filter medium, the filter positioned upstream of the ice maker in a flow direction of water from the second storage volume to the ice maker.

The present subject matter provides a method for operating a dishwasher appliance. The method includes finely filtering wash fluid with a fine filtration medium via cross-flow filtration and coarsely filtering wash fluid with a coarse filtration medium via dead-end filtration. The finely filtered wash fluid is directed to a spray assembly of the dishwasher appliance. A related dishwasher appliance is also provided.

The desiccant assembly includes the heating unit, the fan, and a desiccant module and is in fluid communication with a wash chamber of the dishwasher appliance. The method further includes executing a delay period, the delay period occurring for a predetermined time period between the wet cycle and a dry cycle, wherein the heating unit and the fan are active during the delay period. The method further includes draining liquid from the wash chamber after the delay period, and executing a dry cycle, wherein the fan is active and the heating unit is inactive during the dry cycle.

Methods for operating dishwasher appliances having energy recovery features

Dishwasher appliances are provided. A dishwasher appliance includes a tub that defines a wash chamber for receipt of articles for washing, and a rack assembly arranged within the tub. The dishwasher appliance further includes a fluid ejection assembly, the fluid ejection assembly including an ejection head disposed within the wash chamber, the ejection head operable to eject fluid into the wash chamber. In one embodiment, the dishwasher appliance further includes a passive deflection assembly, the passive deflection assembly including a deflection unit disposed within the wash chamber for deflecting fluid from the ejection head towards the rack assembly. In another embodiment, the dishwasher appliance further includes a deflection assembly, the deflection assembly including a deflection unit disposed within the wash chamber for deflecting fluid from the ejection head towards the rack assembly, the deflection assembly further including a magnet operable to move the deflection unit.
