The invention is a health monitoring system that determines the spine stress dose value for an individual on a high speed boat. The boat can produce impact injury from whole-body vibration embedded with multiple shocks. The system includes an RFID tag; a GPS; a display; a RFID reader; a multi-axis sensor unit that is an accelerometer which enables the determination of impact, vibration and shock, impact and vibration; and a central data acquisition apparatus. The apparatus includes processors in communication with the GPS, the sensor unit, and the RFID reader. The apparatus samples the RFID reader frequently, confirming the status of all individuals having RFID tags as being onboard or overboard. An application records a GPS location and time if an individual is overboard, and generates a course to the GPS location. The display illustrates a ride roughness graphically, in terms of injury potential at a particular speed and heading.

A planing boat's primary hull has an adjunct hull surface rotatably connected thereto near its forward end. The adjunct hull surface extends along the hull of the planing boat to aft of amidships and is constructed of a rigid material that conforms to the shape of the hull of the planing boat. A position controller is coupled to the adjunct hull surface to selectively position the adjunct hull surface relative to the hull of the planing boat. When the adjunct hull surface is spaced apart from the hull of the planing boat, the position controller also absorbs shock loads experienced by the adjunct hull surface.

A boat deployed explosive net assembly includes a boat, an elongated tray, a pair of pontoons, an explosive net and one or more drogue devices. The boat is floatable on and movable along a surface of a body of water, such as a surf zone. The tray includes an outer member and a pair of inner members. The outer member is rotatably mounted to the boat such that the tray is movable between a transport position in which it is aligned in generally parallel relation to the direction of movement of the boat and a deployed position in which it is aligned in generally transverse relation to the direction of movement of the boat. Each inner member is mounted to and disposed within an interior cavity of the outer member and telescopingly movable in relation to the outer member between retracted and extended condition. Each pontoon is floatable on and movable along the surf zone and mounted to one of the inner members of the tray. The explosive net is movable between a stored condition in which the explosive net is gathered within interior cavities of the inner members of the tray and a deployed condition in which the explosive net is spread over a portion of the surf zone.

An apparatus is provided for placing, for example, a line charge set under he surface of the water from a moving watercraft. A rigid arm has a first end and a second end with the first end being rotatably coupled to the watercraft to permit rotation of the arm about the first end such that the second end is free to rotate into the water when the arm is not restrained. The second end is positioned forward of the first end with respect to a direction of travel of the watercraft. In this way, gravitational forces and hydrodynamic forces act on the arm to cause rotation of the arm about the first end. A releasable coupler couples a drogue to the second end and releases the drogue when the second end is in the water. The line charge set is tethered to the drogue and is pulled into the water as the watercraft continues on its course.
