A bookstand made up of a thin material that when in its folded out position receives a book so that the back of the book is tilted up to make its pages more easily viewed by the reader, and that can be folded flat enough to be placed inside the pages of the book so that it can be used as a bookmark.

A data processor for managing a multilevel application wherein the data processor includes a display controller that creates a three-level menu window and a data window. The menu window includes at least two levels that each incorporate select commands associated with discrete subjects wherein menu commands are concurrently displayed on screen to provide historical access information. Menu commands are converted into display presentations where each level defines a greater degree of information detail on a given subject. The data display window for these presentations is further divided into windows for text and graphics. The foregoing arrangement has been found to be exceptionally effective at providing educational or tutorial information access in a efficient manner.

An improved permanent calendar construction that allows easy removal and rearrangement of vertical date columns and yet prevents their disengagement when, for example, the calendar is tilted forward. Extending horizontally across the date column area or well, there is located at least one lipped horizontal track. Defined inthe back wall of each date column are at least two openings or grooves that can mate with the track, as desired. The lip results in a track which extends in more than one straight axial direction and thus engages the groove at least in dual directions (and with the end portion of the track furthest from the back wall terminating in an upwardly and perpendicular direction from an axis perpendicular to the back wall). An example of the preferred embodiment is a track with a right angle lip. Of course, at a minimum, the purposes of the present invention can be accomplished if the track is not lipped and is parallel to or diagonally upwardly directed toward the rear wall.

Permanent calendar construction

An improved permanent calendar assembly is disclosed which is to display any month of any year. The construction includes a flat main body with forwardly protruding tracks for removable mating with date columns. For flexibility of display, end pieces carrying one of the dates '29', '30' and '31' on one surface and a blank on an opposed surface are rotatably or pivotally mounted at the bottom of the date columns so that either side of any of the end pieces may be selected for display. The calendar also features a construction that allows easy removal and rearrangement of the vertical date columns and yet prevents their disengagement when, for example, when the calender is tilted forward. At least one lipped horizontal track extends across the rear of the date column area. Defined in the back wall of each date column are at least two openings or grooves that can mate with the track, as desired. The lip results in a track with surfaces facing in more than one direction and particularly with an engaging surface which has a surface that mates with an opposed surface in each date column groove when the calendar is tipped forward to prevent the date column from falling.

Optionally, a support stand is rotatably secured within a cut-out in the back wall of the calendar frame. A pivot is rigidly received within a thru bore in the upper end of the stand and the ends are received within blind bores in the frame. A compression spring is positioned between the end wall of one of the blind bores in the end pivot, biasing the stand into frictional engagement with one of the side walls of the cut-out. The upper inside wall of the stand is partially angled to allow pivoting until the desired support angle is reached. The bottom wall is appropriately angled so that the stand rests flat on the bearing surface when the stand is in its extended position. As an alternative embodiment, the calendar construction can be made with only one or two columns with reversible mounting structures.

An improved permanent calendar assembly adapted and structured to display any month of any year. As in known calendars of this type, the construction features a flat main body with forwardly protruding tracks for removable mating with date columns. For flexibility of display blocks or end pieces carrying dates '29', '30' and '31' are rotatably or removably mounted onto the date columns. The date mounting structure allows both sides of the blocks to be shown, one side carrying a date and the reverse side being blank.
