An animal restraint system for a vehicle has a vest having leg holes for front legs of an animal. A top strap is extended across the top of an animal wearing the vest and is looped through a buckle tongue and a webbing adjuster defining top and bottom portions of the top strap. The vest is secured to a seat belt of a vehicle by passing the seat belt between the top and bottom portions of the top strap. The top portion of the top strap can be pulled through the webbing adjuster to shorten the bottom portion to adjust the top strap. In an embodiment, the top strap is rotatably coupled to the vest.

Animal restraint system for vehicles

An animal restraint system for a vehicle has a vest having leg holes for front legs of an animal. The vest is symmetrical about the leg holes allowing the vest to be rotated 180 degrees and placed on the animal in either orientation. The vest is removably couplable to a seat belt of the vehicle by a tether strap that has at least one loop through which the seat belt of the vehicle is passed through. The tether strap clips to a top strap of the vest that extends from one side of the vest to the other side of the vest across the back of the animal.

Combination lap and shoulder belt restraining system, including a mounting frame with belt windup spool and with comfort feature release means for automotive vehicle occupant, responsive to tension lap belt engagement independent of belt spool rotation for enabling the comfort feature, and to relaxation of tension by lap belt disengagement independent of belt spool rotation for releasing the comfort feature to thereby assure belt retraction upon occupant leaving the vehicle.

This invention relates to an improved sun visor assembly particularly adapted for motor vehicle applications. The sun visor assembly includes a mirror which is movable between a stowed position where it is enclosed by the visor, to a withdrawn position where it remains attached to the visor and can be used by the individual seated in the associated seat. The mirror is further completely removable from the visor in accordance with this invention so that it can be used as a hand-held mirror and can be used by other motor vehicle occupants. The visor is provided with a detent mechanism which retains the mirror in the desired stowed or withdrawn position. The entire visor assembly is configured to be aesthetically pleasing and relatively inexpensive to produce in terms of component and production costs.

An automatic comfort lock release for an automotive vehicle retractable shoulder belt assuring complete retraction of the shoulder belt upon occupant departure from the vehicle seat. Sensing of automatic lap belt retraction having no comfort lock feature is employed to release the comfort lock and, in dual spool installations, a lever adjacent the lap belt spool sensing lap belt windup releases the comfort lock.
