A method () and an apparatus (e.g., a network node ()) for providing enhanced security using service provider authentication. In addition to authenticating an application signature () against a root certificate () stored on the network node (), a first carrier identification () associated with the application () is compared to a second carrier identification (). If the first and second carrier identifications match, then the application can be assigned to a trusted protection domain and granted permissions which provide privileged access to the network node. For example, the application can be granted permission to be installed and/or executed on the network node. Otherwise the application can be denied privileged access. Accordingly, a carrier's applications will be only installed onto network nodes that are intended recipients of the applications.

Enhanced security using service provider authentication

A lock installation system of template drill and router guides that clamp to the door to prepare doors for locking and latching devices of many different brands. The system uses changeable template drill guides clamped to the faces of the door to drill the cross hole and other specialty holes needed. The edge drilling is done with an attachment for the proper size bit or with a &#xbc; inch pilot hole and hole saw. The attachment also allows the pre-drilling of the screw holes for mounting the latch assembly. After removing the edge drill setup, there is a router template to cut the mortize for the latch for commercial locksets. There is an attachment for residential locks to router cut the mortize cut out for the latch assembly. The embodiment will work on beveled and square edge doors of the two most common back sets. The embodiment will do door edge center, off set drilling and latch assembly mortizing. There is also a means to help align the embodiment on a door that has a pre-existing preparation. The smaller version of this embodiment is for where the door edge latch mortizing is not required.

Method and apparatus for authenticated reporting in a mobile communication device

A mobile communication device () loads an application bundle (), which includes a software application () and an indication of a time limited license (). To enforce the time limited license, the mobile communication device, upon attempting to invoke the application code (), obtains a secure time reading (). It is contemplated that a secure time server () may be used to facilitate license enforcement. Once the secure time reading is obtained, the mobile communication device compares the time with the license period, and executes the code only if the time reading is within the license period.

Method for enforcing a time limited software license in a mobile communication device

A signed application descriptor file ( ) is used instead of X.509 certificates to authenticate a portable application code, such as a JAVA archive (JAR) file. The signed ADF includes an application descriptor file ( ), file hash ( ) of the JAR file ( ), a developer descriptor file ( ), signed time stamp ( ), and a developer's certificate ( ). A network client device ( ) includes limited computing resources ( ) and a virtual machine environment for executing the portable code ( ). Furthermore the client device contains a set of cryptographic, digital keys for authenticating parts of the signed ADF, which are further used to authenticate the JAR file.

Method for authenticating a JAVA archive (JAR) for portable devices

The emboss module of the present invention provides for automatic die and bolster conversion. The emboss module includes a frame, a die changer sub-assembly and a bolster sub-assembly. The die changer sub-assembly includes rotatable die changers for automatically registering dies therein, and the bolster sub-assembly includes counters and panels for receiving the sheet of material and the die. Both the die changer and bolster sub-assemblies are adapted for use with emboss and foil dies and counters. Accordingly, a more efficient and scalable emboss system and method for automatically changing dies and bolsters is described herein.

Integrated emboss module

A flexible counter for an embossing system provides resilient support under a sheet which opposes pressure from a contoured die forming an embossment in the sheet. The flexible counter includes a resilient mat and a fixed bolster which supports the mat. The bolster has peripheral walls which extend around sides of the mat so that an upper portion of the mat protrudes above the peripheral walls. In addition, the bolster includes a resilient bumper that bounds an upper portion of the mat. An upper edge of the bumper is about flush with an upper surface of the mat. The walls have a peripheral channel in which the bumper is disposed. The bumper is formed of a resilient material having higher rigidity than the mat, thereby controlling the flow and stretching behavior of the upper surface of the mat as compressed during an embossing operation.

A flexible counter for an embossing system provides resilient support under a sheet which opposes pressure from a contoured die forming an embossment in the sheet. The flexible counter includes a resilient mat and a fixed bolster which supports the mat. The bolster has a peripheral wall which extends around sides of the mat so that an upper portion of the mat protrudes above the peripheral wall. In addition, the bolster includes support surfaces bounded by recesses. The support surfaces support a bottom surface of the mat, and the recesses receive bulging portions of the mat when compressed under pressure from the die.

Ski runner for skateboard or the like

A skateboard ski apparatus wherein a skateboard platform and related skate trucks are combined with removable ski shoes, the ski shoe having a substantially flat body member provided on its lower surface with parallel runners, and on its upper surface with support ribs adapted to either receive wheels of an existing skateboard or the axles of the wheel-truck assembly. The forward end of the preferred arrangement of the ski shoe includes an upwardly turned end to allow the apparatus to slide over the snow. A second arrangement includes a ski shoe having both ends adapted with upturned ends so that the skateboard ski can be used in either a backward or forward direction.
