A flatbed vehicle carrier assembly comprising a carrier body subassembly including a carrier floor supported by a carrier body slide enabling sill frame. An intermediate subframe subassembly is capable of sliding and being pivotally integrated with a slide enabling tilt and pivotal control subassembly, which is pivotally secured therebetween to a mounting platform support assembly. A pivot control device provides a means to rotate and rearwardly transfer and posture the intermediate subframe. The carrier body sill frame is slideably assembled to the intermediate subframe, being driven by a longitudinal control actuator. A ramp can be pivotally integrated into a loading end of the carrier body subassembly. The carrier and ramp floors are fabricated of a series of interlocking extrusion members. The edge rails can include one or more hook receptacles for receiving flat hooks for tie downs or a slot for receiving one or more sliding latching element assemblies.

Flatbed tow truck assembly and method of use

Flatbed tow truck pivoting platform assembly and method of use

A goods handling' apparatus for a cargo storage and transport vehicle includes a movable cargo platform continuous with a portion of cargo enclosure floor, when the cargo platform is in an upper position. Cargo may be slid between the trailer floor and the cargo platform. A vertical actuator raises and lowers the cargo platform between the upper position and a lower position atop the ground or other vehicle support surface whereupon cargo may be slid between the cargo platform and the ground or other positions. The cargo platform is disposed substantially within the plan perimeter of the floor of the cargo module during raising and lowering. A modular system may be integrated into the cargo enclosure, or may be incorporated into a modular enclosure for appending to a cargo box of the prior art. An underside is disposed in vertically adjusting communication with the cargo platform.

Flatbed tow truck pivoting platform assembly

A goods handling apparatus for a cargo storage and transport trailer of, or connectable to, a vehicle. The preferred apparatus includes a movable cargo platform forming a separate part of, and continuous with, the trailer floor when the cargo platform is in an upper position whereupon cargo may be slid between the trailer floor and the cargo platform. A vertical actuator attached to the cargo platform raises and lowers the cargo platform between the upper position and a lower position atop the ground or other vehicle support surface whereupon cargo may be slid between the cargo platform and the ground or other vehicle support surface. The cargo platform is positioned substantially within the plan perimeter of the floor of the trailer when cargo on the cargo platform is lifted or lowered. A side module is also available.

Cargo handling apparatus

A combination tilting bed carrier and attached wheel lift for mounting on a chassis of a towing vehicle wherein the bed carrier is pivotably connected to the chassis and first motive devices extend between the chassis and the bed carrier for tilting the bed carrier. The wheel lift is positioned below the bed carrier and pivotably connected thereto. Second motive devices extend between the wheel lift and the bed carrier for independently tilting the wheel lift relative to the bed carrier and the chassis.

A subframe structure for a tilting bed vehicle carrier. The subframe structure has an attached wheel lift and the subframe is pivotally mounted on the chassis of a towing vehicle. The subframe structure includes pivotally mounted strut members for load distribution within the subframe. The load which is distributed by the strut members tends to counteract the bending and torsion forces imposed upon the subframe structure by the towed vehicle on the rear wheel lift.

Oppositely extending telescopic wheel support sleeves with wheel support cradles are attached to open top shoes provided at the outer ends of the sleeves. Each of the cradles has a connector arm for securing the cradles to the shoes so that the sleeves and the cradles cooperate to support the wheels of a towed vehicle. The open top shoes provided at the outer end of each of the sleeves allow the end of the connector arm nearest to the shoe to enter the shoe by swinging downwardly in an arc extending from a position above the shoe into the shoe. The connector arms are locked in the shoe.

Quick-couple L-bar sleeve assembly for wheel lift

A wheel lift type vehicle lifting and towing device which includes an extensible and tiltable boom extending rearwardly from a towing vehicle when in use and provided on its end thereof with a pair of wheel receiving members for engaging the wheels of a vehicle to be towed, and then lifting and towing the vehicle. The wheel receiving members are comprised of a fixed prong and a movable L-shaped prong which may be folded to a storage position when not in use. When the entire device is in a storage position, it is retracted substantially out of view within the understructure of the body of the towing vehicle.

Tow truck vehicle body

A push bumper for tow trucks comprising a rigid frame defining a flat center portion and rearwardly canted end portions with a front plate secured over the face of the frame and a back plate secured to the rear of the frame. The back plate is provided with upper and lower flanges which are matingly received within the front plate and frame assembly and with end flanges which project forward into supporting engagement with the canted end portions of the front plate and frame assembly. Channel iron internal reinforcing members are disposed between the front and back plates and a headlamp and grill protector is provided at the top of the bumper. Back end plates are also provided to close off the space between the ends of the back plate and the extremities of the canted end portions to provide a sealed structure free of openings through which corrosive materials might enter the interior of the bumper.
