Plug-in ionizer

Sootless ionizers are provided which greatly reduce the accumulation of ugly black soot on and about the ionizers and adjacent walls or ceiling in the room in which the air is being purified. To this end, the dependable improved ionizers are specially arranged to provide air channels which direct the flow of air past the needles or other ion emitters so that the ions are dispersed through the room for enhanced air purification and the ionized particles are prevented (blown away) from being collected in the ionizers. In one embodiment, the improved ionizers include a plug-in ionizer (PI-1) with an upwardly converging air channel, a curved deflector, and upper and lower sets of air channeling ribs to direct the flow of air past the ion emitters and way from the ionizers. In a second embodiment, the improved ionizer comprises a plug-in ionizer (PI-2) which is similar to the first plug-in ionizer (PI-1) except that it has a single elongated set of air channeling ribs and a motor driven fan to increase air flow. In a third embodiment, the improved ionizers comprise an industrial ionizer with air channeling ribs to direct the flow of air past the ion emitters and away from the ionizers. The industrial ionizer is equipped with an ionizer circuit that substantially decreases or eliminates ammonia type gases in agricultural and industrial environments which provides a safer and healthier environment to work and live in.

Hand held shower head

A push button controlled multifunction shower head. The push button moves a pawl attached to spring biased slide, the pawl bearing against a ratchet wheel which is rotated through a predetermined arcuate step responsive to each push button operation. The ratchet wheel moves a shutter which directs water into a selected one of several races, each race being individually associated with a spray pattern. The shower head may be built into a hand held housing wherein the handle may be held and the push button may be operated by one hand.

An air bubbling mat, which may be placed in the bottom a bath tub, provides a turbulence within the water. The mat includes three hinged or plugged in, and hollow blow molded sections with depressions on one side to form air passage ways through the hollow bath mat. In one embodiment, short sections of convoluted hose interconnect the three sections at the hinge. In another embodiment, plug-in connectors provide communication for pressurized air between said sections. This embodiment may also include a latch means to secure the mats together. An input port is centrally formed on at least one edge of the center section to give a better distribution of air within the air passage ways and to drain the mat. On the opposite side, a centrally located port may be provided in most embodiments to make a connection for attachments.

Air bubbling mats for therapeutically agitating bath water

A whirlpool home appliance is built into a U-shaped housing for fitting over and clamping to the side of a bath tub. A water pump is in the side of the housing which is in the bath tub in order to energize the water in the tub. An air pump is in the side of the housing which is outside the tub in order to pump air to a bubbling bath mat which fits on the bottom of a bath tub. The motor for the appliance is a reversing motor which runs in either of two directions. A one-way clutch disconnects the water pump when the bubbling air mat is used. The air pump may run all of the time since the loading of an air pump is not so great that it must be disconnected when not in use. The housing is attached to the tub by a screw which has a large area of relatively soft padding with a radially distributed flexibility so that there is no abrupt discontinuity of clamping forces. The pad avoids and prevents damage to a plastic or fiber glass bath tub when the screw tightened.

Whirlpool

A shower shaver is made from two plastic piece parts. A first part is a handle in the nature of a pipe terminating in a fan-shaped or flared, tray like top surface. The other piece part is a cover or top which fits over and cooperates with the tray top to form a cavity which delivers a flared sheet of water toward an orifice which strikes to broad surfaces of said blade and then exits under the cutting edge of the blade. The tubing or hose attached to the shower shaver razor leads to a nipple which may be interposed between a shower head and a plumbing pipe. A valve on the nipple provides a continuously variable control over the flow of water to the shaver and/or the shower head. A bracket or hanger is attached to the nipple to receive and support the razor when it is not in use.
