The present disclosure relates to a modular mat system. More particularly, the disclosure is directed to a modular mat system with that may be built out using common pieces of mats. Specifically, a modular mat system with a mat piece with a top plate with inserts, a bottom plate with a plurality of tabs and recesses operative to engage with further mat pieces to build a mat system is discussed. The modular mat system is operative to remove water and other detritus from shoes of a user or other such platform moving across the mat system and feed it to a perimeter drain below the system.

An automated insertion system for inserting or combining one or more fastener components with a molded part. The automated insertion system can handle multiple fastener components repeatedly, and do so faster and more safely than current processes.

Method and apparatus for inserting washers in a molded part

Low touch utensil

A mat unit includes a plurality of gaps defined by a first layer that are in open communication with gaps defined by a second layer so as to permit debris to fall entirely through both gaps to pass completely through the mat unit. The mat unit is part of an omnidirectional mat cleaning system that includes a first direction of travel above the mat unit extending through a door opening defined by a building structure. A different second direction of travel is above the mat unit extending through the door opening or another door opening defined by the building structure. The mat unit is installed on a floor adjacent the door opening. The mat unit cleans shoes regardless of the direction of travel traveled above the mat unit.

Ultrasonically welded mat unit and system thereof

A mat unit is formed from at least two layers ultrasonically welded together. Each layer is individually formed from non-vinyl nontoxic thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) material. In ultrasonically joining the two layers together, there is no need to use additional materials, such as adhesive (i.e., chemical attachment) or stitched thread (i.e., mechanical attachment) to form the joint/weld point. Once formed from the two layers, the mat unit has four quadrants and a plurality of longitudinal ribs integrally formed in the first layer positioned in the first and third quadrants, and a plurality of transverse ribs integrally formed in the first layer positioned in the second and fourth quadrants. Additionally, there are a plurality of longitudinal ribs integrally formed in the second layer positioned in the second and fourth quadrants, and a plurality of transverse ribs integrally formed in the second layer positioned in the first and third quadrants.

Method of fabricating an ultrasonically welded mat unit

A flooring system and a divider for use therewith which transitions between a first and second flooring surface. The divider includes first and second members that snap-fittingly engage each other. A protrusion with a curved terminal end extends from the first member is received in a recess in the second member. The protrusion enables the first member to pivot relative to the second member. A second protrusion extends outwardly from the first member and into a second recess in the second member. A pair of arms extends outwardly in opposite directions from a central base region on the first member and beyond the sides of the second member. In one embodiment, the arms are of the same length and are disposed generally at right angles to the protrusions. In another embodiment a leg extends downwardly from a longer one of the arms to provide extra support to that arm.

Floor mat system and divider for use therewith

A flooring system and a divider for use therewith. The divider transitions between a first and second flooring and includes a first member and a second member that are snap-fittingly engageable with each other. A protrusion from the first member is received in a recess in the second member. The protrusion has a curved terminal end which enables the first member to pivot relative to the second member. In a first position a lower surface of the first member is parallel to a lower surface of the second member. In a second position, the lower surface of the first member is angled relative to the lower surface of the second member. A second protrusion extends outwardly from the first member and into a second recess in the second member. The first member includes a flange which extends laterally outwardly beyond a side surface of the second member.
