A sensor assembly includes a metallic layer positioned at least partially on an insulating material coupled to a fuselage of an aircraft. The sensor assembly further includes a pair of terminals arranged at opposite ends of the metallic layer and a temperature probe thermally coupled to the metallic layer. The metallic layer is heated by a heater thermally coupled to the metallic layer. The temperature probe is used to determine a rate of cooling for the metallic layer, responsive to an air flow over the metallic layer.

System and method for angle of attack sensor

Systems and methods are directed toward determining a vehicle orientation based on sensor information. Sensors are positioned along a vehicle body that may be evaluated to determine corresponding values between matching sensor types. When a threshold of sensors having corresponding values is met, the information from those sensors is combined with additional sensor information to determine a vehicle orientation. As a result, faulty sensor information may be disregarded without eliminating information from operational sensors.

Systems and methods for vehicle orientation determination

An object of this invention is to prevent the collapse of structures such as boat lifts, where the collapse is caused by corrosion of metal fasteners inside conductive material such as moist wood in the presence of ground voltage differences, and where the corrosion is prevented by blocking current from flowing through the fasteners.

An apparatus for enabling accurate retaining of a precise position, such as for reacquisition of a microscopic spot or feature having a size of 0.1 mm or less, on broad-area surfaces after non-in situ processing. The apparatus includes a sample and sample holder. The sample holder includes a base and three support posts. Two of the support posts interact with a cylindrical hole and a U-groove in the sample to establish location of one point on the sample and a line through the sample. Simultaneous contact of the third support post with the surface of the sample defines a plane through the sample. All points of the sample are therefore uniquely defined by the sample and sample holder. The position registration system of the current invention provides accuracy, as measured in x, y repeatability, of at least 140 &#x3bc;m.

This invention pertains to an electronic price display unit which can be remotely addressed and in which the price displayed can be remotely set. Such a device is particularly useful in a retail sales business in a system employing a central computer, point-of-sale terminals, and product code readers, because it ensures that the price displayed for an item is identical to the price actually charged for the item.
