Method and apparatus for reporting feedback information are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive configuration information indicating a plurality of downlink carriers and indicating a plurality of physical control channel resources for feedback. Further, the WTRU may receive a control signal indicating a downlink transmission for reception on one of the plurality of downlink carriers. The WTRU may receive the downlink transmission on the one of the plurality of downlink carriers. The WTRU may transmit feedback for the downlink transmission using one of the plurality of physical control channel resources. The one of the plurality of physical control channel resources may be selected from the plurality of physical control channel resources based on the control signal. In an example, the configuration information may indicate a first uplink carrier and a second uplink carrier for WTRU transmissions. The first uplink carrier may be a time division duplex (TDD) carrier.

Method and apparatus for reporting feedback information for multi-carrier operation

Methods and apparatuses are related to multi-user parallel channel access (MU-PCA). For example, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is provided that is one of the plurality of WTRUs operable to simultaneously communicate via a plurality of channels managed by an access point (AP). The WTRU includes a receiver configured to receive, from the AP, over at least one channel of the plurality of channels, a group poll (G-Poll) message that includes a resource allocation that indicates at least one allocated channel of the plurality of channels for the WTRU; and a transmitter configured to transmit an uplink request message, to the AP in response to the G-Poll message, over the at least one allocated channel of the plurality of channels, the uplink request message corresponding to uplink data the WTRU has for transmission to the AP.

Multi-user parallel channel access in WLAN systems

Method and apparatus for transmission and reception of a Greenfield preamble are provided. In the method and apparatus, the Greenfield preamble may be a single user (SU) preamble or a multi user (MU) preamble. As an MU preamble, the Greenfield preamble includes a short training field (STF), a first long training field (LTF), a first signal (SIG) field, at least one additional LTF, and a second SIG field. Additionally, the Greenfield preamble may be utilized for efficient transmission and reception of control information to wireless devices, whereby the control information may be indicated using the STF, the first LTF, or the first or second SIG fields.

Non-legacy preamble for wireless local area networks

Method and apparatus for reporting feedback information are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a first control message including both information indicating a first allocation of resources on a first downlink transmission for a first downlink carrier and a first indication of resources for feedback corresponding to the first downlink transmission. Further, the first indication of resources for feedback may include at least one orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) symbol and at least one subcarrier. Moreover, the WTRU may receive the first downlink transmission in the first allocation of resources on the first downlink carrier. Also, the WTRU may derive acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) feedback corresponding to the first downlink transmission. Additionally, the WTRU may transmit the derived ACK/NACK feedback in the at least one OFDM symbol and on the at least one subcarrier, based on the first indication of resources for feedback.

A method and apparatus may be configured to support coordinated orthogonal block-based resource allocation (COBRA) operations. An access point (AP) may be configured to indicate to a plurality of stations (STA)s that it may support COBRA. Each WTRU may be configured to indicate to the AP that it can support COBRA as well. The AP may be configured to transmit a COBRA controller information element (IE) comprising a plurality of fields to each of the WTRUs. Each WTRU may be configured to transmit a COBRA controllee IE comprising a plurality of fields. STA grouping management, group maintenance, channel access, beamforming, sounding and frequency and synchronization procedures are also described.

Method and apparatus for supporting coordinated orthogonal block-based resource allocation (COBRA) operations

Method and apparatus for reporting feedback information are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive an allocation message which indicates an allocation of downlink resources for a downlink transmission and an allocation of a first uplink control channel. Further, the indicated allocation of the first uplink control channel may indicate a starting symbol for the first uplink control channel and subcarriers for the first uplink control channel. Also, the WTRU may receive the downlink transmission on a downlink carrier in the indicated allocation of downlink resources for the downlink transmission. Moreover, the WTRU may transmit a plurality of uplink control channels carrying hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgment/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) information for the downlink transmission and other control information. In addition, the plurality of uplink control channels may include the first uplink control channel.

A method for fast initial link setup (FILS) for use in a wireless station, is disclosed. The method includes receiving a FILS discovery (FD) frame from an access point (AP). FD frame includes an FD frame control field and FD frame contents. The FD frame control field includes a capability presence indicator indicating whether a FD capability field is present in the FD frame contents. The method further includes determining to associate with the AP based on the received FD frame, and transmitting an association request frame to the AP.

Fast initial link setup discovery frames

Methods and apparatuses are related to multi-user parallel channel access (MU-PCA). For example, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is provided that is one of a plurality of WTRUs operable to simultaneously communicate via a plurality of channels managed by an access point (AP). The WTRU includes a receiver configured to receive, from the AP, over at least one channel of the plurality of channels, a group poll (G-Poll) message that includes a resource allocation that indicates at least one allocated channel of the plurality of channels for the WTRU; and a transmitter configured to transmit an uplink request message, to the AP in response to the G-Poll message, over the at least one allocated channel of the plurality of channels, the uplink request message corresponding to uplink data the WTRU has for transmission to the AP.

Methods and apparatus are described. According to a method, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) acquires a first random access configuration and a second random access configuration, which are different, and performs a first random access procedure using the first random access configuration using first physical resources and a second random access procedure using the second random access configuration using second physical resources. The first random access configuration is for at least initial random access and the second random access configuration is for timing adjustments. The first physical resources are different than the second physical resources. The WTRU receives a first message for the first random access procedure and a second message for the second random access procedure. The first message is an aggregated response message including a plurality of first random access responses and the second message is an aggregated response message including a plurality of second random access responses.

Base station assistance for random access performance improvement

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed to desynchronize transmissions in group-based operations. A group user equipment (UE), e.g., a UE that is a member of a group of UEs, may be in an inactive mode. The group UE may receive a multicast message indicating that the group UE may enter an active mode. For example, the group UE may use the active mode for periodic reporting of its monitoring activity to the network. The multicast message may indicate a mechanism for the group UE to use to send an uplink transmission to the network. The group UE may send the uplink transmission to the network at a transmission time indicated by the mechanism. The transmission time may be desynchronized from other UEs in the group.

Desynchronized network access in M2M networks

Method and apparatus for reporting feedback information for multi-carrier operation are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is configured with multiple carriers. A base station may allocate an uplink (UL) control channel associated with a single UL carrier, for the WTRU. The base station may transmit, to the WTRU, a plurality of data signals via at least two downlink (DL) carriers using orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and multiple input multiple output (MIMO), and may receive from the WTRU hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgment/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) information, for the plurality of data signals transmitted via the at least two DL carriers, on the UL control channel. The HARQ ACK/NACK information may include at least two HARQ ACK/NACKs ANDed together. In addition, the base station may transmit, to the WTRU, information including a set of the DL carriers, each having an associated three bit indicator, for DL data transmission.

Methods and apparatus are described herein. According to a method, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) acquires a first random access configuration and a second random access configuration. The first random access configuration and the second random access configuration are different and each corresponds to different physical resources. The WTRU also performs a first random access procedure using the first random access configuration and a second random access procedure using the second random access configuration. The first random access configuration is used for at least initial random access and the second random access configuration is not used for initial random access and not used for handover random access.

In an embodiment, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may include: at least one antenna; a transceiver operatively coupled to the at least one antenna; and a processor operatively coupled to the transceiver. The at least one antenna is configured to receive a first signal that includes a control message. The transceiver and the processor are configured to recover the control message from the first signal. The control message includes a resource allocation, a group identification and subframe pattern information. The transceiver and the processor are further configured to produce a second signal that includes data associated with group identification. The processor is further configured to have the transceiver and the at least one antenna transmit the second signal in resources assigned by the resource allocation and in subframes derived from the subframe pattern information. The transceiver and the at least one antenna are further configured to transmit the second signal.
