A trim cover assembly includes a trim cover disposable on a seat cushion, the trim cover having an A-side defining an occupant surface and a B-side, opposite the A-side, facing an external surface of the seat cushion. The trim cover defines a support area which, when disposed over the seat cushion, corresponds to a seat belt buckle and a recess corresponding to the seat belt buckle. The trim cover assembly also includes a trim support member secured on the B-side of the trim cover, and corresponding to at least a portion of the support area. The trim support member defines an engagement region for engaging a seat frame to form a support extension from the seat frame to provide support to the trim cover over the seat belt buckle and recess.

Trim support member

A trim cover assembly includes a trim cover disposable over a cushion having a release handle bezel assembly, the trim cover has an A-side and a B-side, opposite the A-side, facing an external surface of the cushion. The trim cover defines a cover opening that, when disposed over the cushion, generally corresponds to a release handle of the release handle bezel assembly. The trim cover assembly also includes a trim retainer on the B-side of the trim cover having an outer periphery and an inner periphery defining a retainer opening generally corresponding to at least a portion of the cover opening. The trim retainer is configured to engage a housing of the release handle bezel assembly such that the trim cover assembly can be secured to the housing and between the housing and a bezel of the release handle bezel assembly.

Trim retention member

A seatback includes a trim cover/foam assembly including a foam cushion with a trim cover assembly disposed thereon. The trim cover/foam assembly has an occupant support side and a rear side opposite to the occupant support side, and defines an opening therethrough. The trim cover assembly includes a rear panel on the rear side for closing the opening. The seatback also includes an attachment member on the rear side of the trim cover/foam assembly configured to engage the rear panel and an armrest assembly including an armrest pivotally disposed on a frame at a rear portion of the armrest, with the armrest configured to pass through the opening. Upon installation of the armrest assembly, the rear panel is secured to the attachment member and sandwiched between the rear portion and the attachment member.

A vehicle seat assembly is provided with a structural member adapted to be mounted within a vehicle to provide support to an occupant. The structural member has at least one channel formed therein. A cushion member is provided adjacent to the structural layer. The cushion member has at least one channel formed therethrough. A trim member is secured over the cushion member to form a seating surface. At least one attachment member is mounted to the trim member extending through the at least one channel of the cushion member. The at least one attachment member extends into the at least one channel of the structural member such that at least one of the trim material and the cushion layer is retained on the structural member.

A seat assembly having a seat back and a bolster subassembly. The bolster subassembly may have a bolster frame and a bolster trim subassembly. The bolster frame may be mounted to a back panel of the seat back. The bolster trim subassembly may be received between the bolster frame and the back panel when the bolster subassembly is mounted to the seat back.

A vehicle seat assembly has a seat body adapted to be mounted within a vehicle to provide support to an occupant. A seat component is provided adjacent to the seat body. A first attachment member is provided within one of the seat body and the seat component. A second attachment member is provided on the other of the seat body and the seat component. The second attachment member is engageable within the first attachment member such that the seat component is attached to the seat body through engagement between the first attachment member and the second attachment member.

Vehicle seat assembly having layered seating system with attachment member

A vehicle seat assembly is provided having a seat bottom and a seat back assembly connected to the seat bottom. The seat back assembly includes a support frame having a pair of opposing substantially vertical side frame members which receive an elastomeric support webbing. The elastomeric support webbing extends between and cooperates with the opposing side frame members to provide structural support for the passenger seated in the vehicle seat. Side bolsters are attached to the elastomeric support webbing adjacent the opposing side frame members. A headrest or upper bolster is secured to the top of the seat frame adjacent the side bolsters.

Elastomeric seat back and slide-over head rest assembly for a vehicle seat

A vehicle seat assembly is provided having a seat bottom and a seat back assembly connected to the seat bottom. The seat back assembly includes a support frame having a pair of opposing substantially vertical side frame members which receive an elastomeric support webbing. The elastomeric support webbing extends between the opposing substantially vertical side frame members to provide structural support for the passenger of a vehicle. Side bolsters are attached to the elastomeric support webbing about the opposing substantially vertical side frame members. A headrest or upper bolster is secured to the top of the frame of the seat assembly adjacent the side bolsters.

A seat assembly includes a seat structural member and a clip having first and second hook portions. The first hook portion of the clip is attached to the structural member. The seat assembly also includes a first trim material having an edge attached to the clip. Preferably, the first trim material is an elastomeric material. The seat assembly further includes a second trim material having a first edge attached to the first trim material and a second edge attached to the second hook portion.

Attachment for seat assembly

A vehicle seat bolster is adapted for attachment to a seat back, wherein the seat back has first and second sides and front and rear portions. A center portion of the seat bolster is removably attachable to the rear portion of the seat. First and second opposing arms extend from the center portion. Each arm includes a distal end which is removably attachable to the respective first and second side of the seat back such that the seat bolster provides lateral support for the seat back. The seat bolster is quickly disconnectable from the seat back for removal and installation of similar bolsters with varying load carrying capacity.

Detachable vehicle seat bolster

The assembly (10) includes a plurality of tubes (30) configured to fit into the trenches or indentations of a preformed seat cushion assembly (14). The plurality of tubes (30) rotate about pins (56) and force a fabric bag (12) and an adhesive layer located between the seat cushion assembly (14) and the fabric bag (12) into the trenches. Steam passes through the plurality of tubes (30) and out a plurality of holes (32) which are spaced along the plurality of tubes (30). The steam melts the adhesive layer which subsequently bonds the fabric bag (12) to the seat cushion assembly (14) within the trenches of the seat cushion assembly (14). A vacuum (40) is used to create a pressure differential between the passageways within the plurality of tubes (30) and the atmosphere, i.e., the seat cushion (15). The pressure differential is used to remove the steam and any water from the fabric bag (12) and seat cushion assembly (14) to prevent water damage thereto.

Method for bonding fabric to seat cushion trenches

The assembly (10) includes a plurality tubes (30) configured to fit into the trenches of a preformed seat cushion assembly (14). The plurality of tubes (30) rotate about pins (56) and force a fabric bag (12) and an adhesive layer located between the seat cushion assembly (14) and the fabric bag (12) into the trenches. Steam passes through the plurality of tubes (30) and out a plurality of holes (32) which are spaced along the plurality of tubes (30). The steam melts the adhesive layer which subsequently bonds the fabric bag (12) to the seat cushion assembly (14) within the trenches of the seat cushion assembly (14). A vacuum (40) is used to create a pressure differential between the passageways within the plurality of tubes (30) and the atmosphere, i.e., the seat cushion (15). The pressure differential is used to remove the steam and any water from the fabric bag (12) and seat cushion assembly (14) to prevent water damage thereto.
