A method for dispensing a sanitizing composition comprising a carrier fluid involves passing a carrier fluid under pressure through a nozzle and a chamber mounted to the nozzle. The chamber receives the carrier fluid from the nozzle and has an opening on an opposite side from the nozzle through which the carrier fluid exits the chamber. Ozone is provided to an interior of the chamber in the presence of the carrier fluid, and is irradiated with ultraviolet radiation as the carrier fluid and the ozone pass through an interior of the chamber.

Spray nozzle using advanced oxidation

A system is proposed for cleaning and sterilization wherein a carrier fluid is provided through a spray head having a mixing chamber, the flow of carrier fluid converted to a spray by the spray head. In the mixing chamber, ozone and ozone reaction products are mixed with the flow of carrier fluid to obtain a higher mixture of ozone and ozone reaction products in the carrier fluid immediately before the carrier fluid and ozone and ozone reaction products are dispensed as a spray.

Sanitizing and cleaning process and method

A process for sanitizing and cleaning wherein water containing ozone and other substances is sprayed through a spray head. The spray head contains a mixing chamber wherein ozone and other chemicals are mixed prior to being sprayed. The spray head also imparts an electrostatic charge onto the water or cleaning solution prior to be emitted from the spray head. Ozone is drawn into the spray head from an ozone generator through a tube positioned near the mixing chamber. The ozone generator may further comprise orienting at least one port on both a first and a second Venturi in the interior of the ozone generator to enhance the process of ozone production. A halogen generator may be incorporated into the process to add a sanitizing halogen to the water or cleaning solution.

Sanitizing and cleaning process and apparatus

Water sanitizing apparatus is provided for pools, spas hot tubs and other similar bathing facilities that integrates an ozone generator and a chlorine generator in one unit, in addition to exposing a flow of water to be purified to ultraviolet radiation from the ozone generator for advanced oxidation reactions. In one embodiment, a mixing venturi allows for mixing various substances together prior to insertion into the motive flow. In another embodiment the venturi is constructed as inserts that allow tuning of the venturi for individual systems. In other embodiments, salt is added to a portion of the water flow as a concentrated brine from which chlorine is generated, or the salt may be simply be added to the water of the facility at a much lower concentration and chlorine generated from the flow of water through the apparatus.

Combined chlorine and ozone generator sterilization system

Retrofit apparatus for retrofitting an ozone generator to a spa, hot tub, recreational fountain, or similar facility, and a method for treating biofilms therein, are disclosed. Fittings inserted into water and air circulating lines associated with such water holding facilities, and covers provided over inlets, generally inject, retain, and concentrate ozonated gas in such lines, especially while they are not filled with water. In some embodiments, an ozone-providing plug is provided to at least one water outlet of a spa or hot tub, with other outlets being blocked. In some embodiments, covers for suction inlets, and plugs for water jets, have features to provide ozone to water circulation lines when not filled with water as well as when the tub is filled and water is circulating. In some embodiments, plugs for water jets are ejected and subsequently provide ozone to water circulating in a tub.

Ozone generator retrofit apparatus for jetted tubs, spas and other water circulation facilities

A method for connecting a chlorine generator to a pipe carrying a flow of water is disclosed. A short section of rigid pipe conveying water to the chlorine generator is configured at an end inserted into the water flow so that the flow forces water into the rigid pipe and into the chlorine generator, and a second short section of rigid pipe that returns chlorinated water from the chlorine generator to the flow of water is configured at an end inserted into the water flow so that the flow draws the chlorinated water into the flow. A single clamp around the pipe carrying the flow may be used to mount both sections of short rigid tubing to and from the chlorine generator.

Method and apparatuses for connecting sanitizing and other devices to water lines

A processor triggers a first advanced execution processing pass to an instruction sequence in response to a first stalled instruction and initiates execution of a further instruction in the instruction sequence that stalls during the performance of the first advanced execution processing pass. A second advanced execution pass is performed through the instruction sequence in which the further instruction is processed again to provide a valid result after stalling. In one form, the first instruction is performed while the processor operates in a normal execution mode and the first and second advanced execution processing passes are performed while the processor operates in an advance execution mode.

Processor architecture for multipass processing of instructions downstream of a stalled instruction

Methods and apparatus for efficient implementation and control of water treatment bypass loops combining ozone and chlorine injection are disclosed. Combined use of ozone and chlorine exploits high oxidation potential of ozone while retaining longer lived residual effectiveness of chlorine for high efficacy against contaminants, particularly biological and organic. Embodiments including automated monitoring and control of chlorine concentrations in presence of high oxidation potentials from ozone are disclosed, as is an inexpensive circuit for using a signal from a redox sensor for controlling output from an electrolysis cell. Also disclosed is a multipurpose enclosure that may be used, with different inserts, to implement an electrolysis cell, an ultraviolet ozone generator, an advanced oxidation unit, or an erosion feeder for adding dissolved salt to water for use in an electrolysis cell. The multipurpose enclosure helps reduce cost associated with maintaining inventories of different components used in water purification systems.

Water treatment methods and systems using combinations of ozone and chlorine generators

An adjustable Venturi is disclosed, and having a plurality of inlet ports providing substances to be mixed with a flow of fluid through the Venturi. In one embodiment, the Venturi is constructed having an inlet portion, an outlet portion, with an annular mixing chamber coupled to inlet ports so that substances provided through inlet ports are mixed in the mixing chamber, and such mixture introduced into the flow. A gasket sealably disposed between inlet portion and outlet portion is selectable in thickness, for adjusting width of a Venturi interface between the inlet portion and outlet portion. In another embodiment, the inlet portion and outlet portion are fitted in an elongated opening, and are replaceable to change operational characteristics of the Venturi. A replaceable disk having a central opening and substance-providing passageways is disposed between the inlet portion and outlet portion, and may be changed to change characteristics of the Venturi.

Adjustable venturi

A combined ozone and ozonites generator and ozone eliminator is disclosed. The device uses different modes of operation to control generation or elimination of ozone, with some modes being used for generating ozonites, some of which are generally less reactive and provide more far reaching beneficial effects than ozone alone. The device uses 185 nm radiation to disassociate atomic oxygen leading to creation of ozone, and uses 254 nm radiation to disassociate ozone, reducing its concentration, with both processes leading to creation of ozonites. These effects are achieved by operating either lamp separately or by operating both lamps simultaneously while drawing air through a chamber containing the lamps.

Ozone generator retrofit apparatus for jetted tubs, spas, and other water circulation facilities

This application relates to innovative apparatus and methods for efficient use of vacuum ultraviolet light and ozone to break down biological and chemical contaminants in air that flows through such apparatus, and to generate additional ozone and ozonites that further contribute to destruction of contaminants in air in a generally enclosed contaminated volume communicating with such apparatus, as well as contaminants on surfaces and within porous materials such as clothing in a generally enclosed volume, and including contaminants on the hair or skin of an individual, or on the hide or fur of an animal. A generally enclosed contaminated volume may include an interior of a hazardous materials (HAZMAT) protective suit donned by an individual, or in an environment, that was already contaminated, or a passenger compartment of a vehicle operated or parked in a contaminated area.

Air purification and decontamination for hazmat suits

A water sanitizing apparatus is provided wherein a housing is divided into separate narrow compartments through which a flow of water is directed sequentially in upward and downward directions. An ultraviolet ozone generator and pair of electrolysis plates are mounted in one of the narrow compartments, with a salt in the flow of water being electrolyzed to form a sanitizing halogen in the presence of ultraviolet light from the ozone generator. In one embodiment, a bubble separator is used to separate undissolved gasses from the flow of water and re-apply such gasses back to the flow of water upstream from the bubble separator.

Water treatment bypass loops combining ozone and chlorine injection, and an adaptable clamp apparatus to support efficient retrofit installation of forward bypass loops (around filters) or reverse bypass loops (around pumps) and associated equipment are disclosed. Combined injection of ozone and chlorine exploits high oxidation potential of ozone to enhance oxidation effectiveness of chlorine while still retaining longer lived residual effectiveness of chlorine, particularly against biological and organic contaminants. A method for reducing costs of salt chlorine generation electrolysis cells and power supplies by using ozone to reduce deposit buildup on electrode plates is also disclosed, as is an apparatus for generating chlorine for use in water treatment in bathing facilities without requiring addition of sodium chloride or other halogen salts to water in a swimming pool or spa.
