An improved pipe-moving apparatus is disclosed having a pipe-insertable elongate member which is articulated for ease of use, particularly for pipe laying near trench ends. In a preferred form, the elongate member has a series of at least two carrier members pivotably interconnected end-to-end, with the proximal end of such series of carrier members attached to the controlling mechanism, and structure supporting the carrier members in alignment when the carrier member series is suspended by its proximal end. A highly preferred embodiment accommodates the removable insertion of one or more additional carrier members in the series to extend the length of the elongate member.

Pipe-moving apparatus

An improved simplified compacting apparatus for mounting on the tool-support boom of a backhoe or other tractor. The apparatus includes a lower member with a convex cylindrical compacting surface which extends through an arc of less than about 180 degrees, preferably less than about 90 degrees, and terminates in front and rear edges. At least one and preferably two upright members are secured to the lower member, preferably to a top concave surface thereof, and pivot mounts are on the upright member to allow pivoting attachment to a tool-support boom. The apparatus is easy to operate and easily reaches edges not reached by many prior devices.

Compaction attachment for backhoe

Improved backhoe bucket transport apparatus including an engagement member secured to a loader bucket and having an open hook for engaging and suspending the backhoe bucket by its pivot pin. Normal rolling motion of the loader bucket causes it to receive the backhoe where it may be securely held during transport. Unloading is carried out by reversing the steps.

Backhoe bucket transport system

An improved boom-supportable device for lifting large rocks, broken concrete or asphalt pieces, and the like from the ground without particulates. The invention includes a generally upright frame member having a lower edge, a shelf-like member extending laterally from the frame lower edge to a distal end and defining substantial voids, and devices removably attaching the shelf-like member to the frame lower edge selectively in either a forward position or a rearward position. The shelf-like member preferably has a plurality of elongated parallel teeth spaced along the lower edge. The teeth are most preferably separate, each individually attached to the lower edge.

Implement for moving rocks and the like

A device for grade leveling having a lower member with a flat bottom surface terminating in an upwardly-beveled leading edge, upright members secured above the lower member, and first and second pivot-mounts on the uprights. One of said first and second pivot-mounts defines a fixed pivot axis on the uprights and the other defines a pivot location which is variable along an arc centered around said fixed pivot axis.

Grade leveling device

An improved forklift linkage device of the type engageable with the forwardly-extending forklift tines. The linkage device includes a horizontal frame having a front tool-supporting portion and a rear securing portion extending rearwardly therefrom at a lower level to a rear edge. Tine-receiving channels extend forwardly from a position forward of the rear edge, and the securing portion has portions designed to interlock with the vertical standard of the forklift when the linkage device is raised on the fork.

Forklift linkage device

An improved simple device for loosening, breaking up and removing concrete pavement slabs. The device has one or more planar vertical engagement members each having a generally horizontal slab-receiving slot. Each slot is bounded by upper and lower opposed edges and a crotch edge therebetween, all in fixed relative positions. The upper and lower edges extend forwardly to aligned upper and lower forward ends. The slot is dimensioned to accept and manipulate slabs, and to lift slab pieces taking advantage of the weight of the slabs to hold them for lifting. First and second pivot-mounting means are arranged to facilitate a can-opener like slab-manipulating motion.

Concrete pavement breaker

The present invention relates to a truck mounted backhoe supported by a frame that pivots between a use position and a transport position in an uninterrupted movement. The support frame is interconnected to the truck by a linkage assembly having two links pivotally connected at adjacent ends with the opposite ends connected to the frame and the truck respectively. A hydraulic cylinder is connected at the adjacent connecting point to push and pull the frame between the use and transport positions. Further, a control station is provided which is pivotally interconnected with the support frame and is moved with respect to the frame as the frame moves between the use and transport position to prevent interference with the backhoe. A bracing frame is provided to retain the frame in a substantially vertical position when in use.

Truck mounted backhoe

A closed loop hydrostatic transmission is disclosed which includes an improved hydraulic fluid bleed arrangement. The fluid bleed arrangement includes a variable flow bleed valve hydraulically joined with each of the closed loops of the hydrostatic transmission. Each variable bleed valve is operatively associated with the control mechanism which selectively controls the reversible flow fluid pump of the closed loop for direction of fluid under pressure in forward and reverse directions in the loop. The variable action of each bleed valve permits a relatively greater amount of hydraulic fluid to be bled from the closed loop during periods of operation when the flow of hydraulic fluid otherwise lost from the closed loops is insufficient to permit adequate replenishment of fluid in the loops with cooler charging fluid. Additionally, the variable bleed valves of the system reduce the amount of fluid bled from the loops during periods of operation when a relatively high rate of hydraulic fluid bleed is not desired, thus permitting the charging system of the hydrostatic transmission to include a charging pump of relatively smaller displacement.
