A frame assembly is disposed within an opening of a structure. The frame assembly includes first and second frame members each defining an interior and having a plurality of walls extending between a first end and a second end. The frame assembly includes a cornerlock extending into each of the first and second frame members. The cornerlock includes first and second body members each having hinge and distal ends and are rotatably coupled together at the hinge ends. The first body member has at least one arm deflectable to bias against and engage the first frame member. Each of the first and second frame members has a mitered end. The first and second frame members abut at the mitered ends in an angular configuration. The cornerlock rotates to correspond with the angular configuration and is entirely disposed within a combination of the interiors of the first and second frame members.

Frame assembly including a cornerlock

A cornerlock is used with a frame assembly. The frame assembly includes first and second frame members each having walls defining interior voids. The cornerlock extends into the interior void of each of the first and second frame members. The cornerlock comprises first and second body members mating with the interior voids of the first and second frame members, respectively. Each body member has proximal and distal ends and are rigidly fixed to one another. The first body member has a leg and an arm both extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The leg is resistant to deflection. The arm is deflectable about the proximal end and immediately deflects upon engagement with the first frame member for engaging the leg with one of the plurality of walls and biasing the arm into engagement with another one of the plurality of walls of the first frame member.

A method manufactures a frame assembly, which supports a fenestration article. The frame assembly includes a stile member having a stile tab. The frame assembly also includes a rail member coupled substantially transverse to the stile member. The rail member has a rail tab. The method comprises the step of inserting a portion of the stile member into an interior of the rail member such that the stile tab extends beyond the rail member. The method also comprises the step of inserting a portion the rail member into an interior of the stile member such that the rail tab extends beyond the stile member. The method further comprises the steps of bending the stile tab about the rail member to couple the stile member to the rail member and bending the rail tab about the stile member to couple the rail member to the stile member.

Method of manufacturing a frame assembly having stile and rail tabs for coupling stile and rail members together

A frame assembly supports a fenestration article. The frame assembly comprises a stile member and a rail member coupled substantially transverse to the stile member. A stile tab extends axially from the stile member and a rail tab extends axially from the rail member. The stile tab is bent around the rail member and the rail tab is bent around the stile member for coupling the stile member to the rail member.
