A plurality of micron-size solid particles is described herein that includes at least one polyamide compound, wherein the particles comprise a diameter in the range of about 1 micron to about 1000 microns, and wherein at least some of the plurality of particles are substantially transparent. In addition, a plurality of micron-size solid particles is described herein that includes at least one polyamide compound, wherein the particles comprise a diameter of less than about 4 microns. Methods of forming a plurality of micron-size solid particles are also described that include a) introducing at least one amide-based compound having a melting point, at least one suspending agent and at least one surfactant into a reaction vessel to form a reaction mixture; b) applying a thermal energy to the reaction mixture, wherein the thermal energy comprises a temperature that is at or above the melting point of the at least one amide-based compound; c) polymerizing the at least one amide-based compound in the reaction mixture; d) cooling the reaction mixture; and e) rinsing the reaction mixture to retrieve the polymer particles.

Micron-size polymer particles comprising polyamide compound, production and uses thereof

Stable concentrated suspensions readily dispersible in water comprising one or more agricultural solids, a single non-ionic surfactant and a water-soluble glycol liquid. The agricultural solids include fertilizers, adjuvants, herbicides, pesticides and combinations thereof approved for use with foods. The non-ionic surfactant is an alkyl-phenoxy-poly(ethylenoxide)alkanol, an ethoxylated aliphatic Cto Calcohol, an ethylene oxide-propylene oxide block copolymer or an ethoxylated fatty acid. Preferably, the surfactant has an average molecular weight from about 300 to about 1000. The water-soluble glycol liquid is ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, or mixtures thereof. The agricultural solid particles are at least about 99 wt. % passable through a Tyler #48 sieve. The suspensions of the invention exhibit physical stability during normal storage conditions, good pourability, and are readily dispersed in water.

Agricultural chemical suspensions

A beneficiated sludge solids composition comprising digested municipal sewage sludge, ammonium sulfate, and superphosphoric acid. Alternatively, a beneficiated sludge solids composition comprising digested municipal sewage sludge, ammonium sulfate, mineral acid and phosphate salt. The constituents of the beneficiated sludge solids composition of the invention act synergistically to increase economic value through increased fertilization values of nitrogen and phosphorous, decreased flammability and autocombustibility, decreased ammonia evolution on drying and decreased corrosibility. The beneficiated sludge solids composition is capable of being produced in present sewage treatment facilities.

Ammonium sulfate nitrate composite materials useful as fertilizers having desirable levels of nitrate ions, superior stability against detonation, higher density, greater resistance to moisture, and a method for their manufacture. The ammonium sulfate nitrate composites have as essential constituents ammonium sulfate and the NH SO .2(NH NO ) double salt with less than 5 wt. % in combined total of the more hazardous NH SO .3(NH NO ) double salt and ammonium nitrate.

Process for granule production

Stable concentrated suspensions readily dispersible in water comprising ammonium sulfate, a surfactant, and an oil. The ammonium sulfate particles are at least about 99 wt. % passable through a Tyler &num;48 sieve. The surfactant has an HLB rating from about 10 to about 15. The oil is a hydrocarbon or other non-polar oil having a viscosity of at least about 5 centipoises at 40&deg; C. The ammonium sulfate suspensions of the invention are useful as herbicidal adjuvants, herbicidal compositions or for other purposes.
