An apparatus and method for an articulating microsurgical instrument is disclosed herein. The articulating microsurgical instrument may be configured to be operable with a Doppler probe, bone grasper, soft tissue grasper/dissector, scissors, flexible forceps, or a suction/irrigation line configured to provide tools within a surgical location that can be adjusted to a desired angle of operation. A tip assembly may comprise an articulating portion at a distal tip and the articulating portion may be configured to deflect upon actuation of an articulation control. The articulation control may be a trigger assembly or a roller wheel. A bayonet-style handle may include a set of posts configured to interact with the one or more control wires during actuation of the articulation control. One or more control wires may be housed in a lumen and actuated using a articulation control of a handle assembly.

Articulating microsurgical instrument

A system for adapting a tubular surgical device for grasping by a surgical instrument is provided that has a distal portion, an adaptor positioned proximally and configured to be disposed about or within a lumen of the tubular surgical device, which has an effective durometer to resist crushing by the surgical instrument. In some embodiments, the adaptor is configured with an external diameter greater than the internal diameter of the lumen of the tubular surgical device. In some embodiments, the adaptor is configured with an external diameter less than or equal to the internal diameter of the tubular surgical device.

Graspable surgical device

An XRF system including an analyzer with a sample bottle holder, an x-ray source positioned to emit x-rays into a sample bottle placed in the holder, and a detector positioned to receive x-rays emitted by a sample in the sample bottle positioned in the sample bottle holder. A supply of sample bottles receivable in the sample bottle holder, each sample bottle including a first cap with the window therein for allowing x-rays to pass there through when the sample bottle is positioned in the holder, and a second cap without a window for transporting and storing the sample.
