A ripping mechanism for a vehicle has a support frame, and a ripping member having an engagement head for plowing a groove. The ripping member is positionable in a selected working position and orientation by adjustment of the frame. The ripping member is movable relative to the frame to cause reciprocating movement of the engagement head at least partially longitudinally. A tilt adjustment cylinder orients the ripping member in the selected orientation. A vibrator mechanism operatively connected to the ripping member is activatable to cause reciprocating movement of the engagement head at least partially longitudinally. A control system includes a pressure sensor fluidically connected to the tilt adjustment cylinder and the pressure sensor determines a pressure thereof. The control system is configured to alter an operational state of the vibrator mechanism based on the pressure being above or below a threshold pressure.

In an aspect of the invention a ripping mechanism for a vehicle is provided which includes a support frame, a ripping member and an impact mechanism, such as a vibrator, which is configured to reciprocate the ripping member forwardly and rearwardly about a transverse pivot axis. The ripping member is mounted within a sleeve that pivots with the ripping member about the pivot axis, while at the same time selectively permitting movement of the ripping member along the sleeve. The ripping member may thereby be raised or lowered relative to the sleeve in order to adjust the depth of the engagement head relative to the support frame.

A ripping mechanism for a vehicle has a support frame. A ripping member has an engagement head that is configured for plowing a groove in the ground. The ripping member is preferably positionable in a selected working position and working orientation by adjustment of the support frame. The ripping member is preferably movable relative to the support frame to cause reciprocating movement of the engagement head at least partially longitudinally. A tilt adjustment cylinder is preferably operable to orient the ripping member in the selected orientation. A vibrator mechanism is preferably operatively connected to the ripping member and activatable to cause reciprocating movement of the engagement head at least partially longitudinally.

In a first aspect, the invention is directed to an undercarriage for a tracked vehicle. The undercarriage includes a main frame including a frame body and an equalizer bar extending laterally on either side of a pivot connection with the frame body, a first track frame and a second track frame. A first front spherical bearing connects a first end of the equalizer bar and the front end of the first track frame. A second front spherical bearing connects a second end of the equalizer bar and the front end of the second track frame. A first rear spherical bearing connects the rear end of the main frame to the rear end of the first track frame. A second rear spherical bearing connects the rear end of the main frame to the rear end of the second track frame. The spherical bearings between the rear end of the main frame and the rear ends of the track frames permit the rear ends of the track frames to accommodate the arcuate movement of the front ends of the track frames as the equalizer bar pivots about its pivot connection when the vehicle travels over uneven terrain. The spherical bearings further on both the front and the rear of the vehicle also permit the tracks of the vehicle to more fully contact the ground when the ground is not perfectly flat. An example of such a situation may be when the vehicle travels on a road which is crowned.

Undercarriage for a tracked vehicle

In an aspect, the invention is directed to a ripping mechanism for a vehicle. The ripping mechanism includes a support frame, a ripping member and an impact mechanism which is configured to reciprocate the ripping member forwardly and rearwardly. The impact mechanism is preferably a vibrator mechanism. In a particular embodiment, the ripping mechanism has a longitudinal axis, is mountable to the vehicle and is movable between a raised position and a lowered position. The ripping member has an engagement head that is configured for plowing a groove in the ground and that is pivotally supported on the support frame about a ripping member pivot axis that is positioned such that pivoting of the ripping member displaces the engagement head longitudinally. The impact mechanism is preferably a vibrator mechanism. The vibrator mechanism is connected to the ripping member wherein activation of the vibrator mechanism causes reciprocating pivoting movement of the ripping member.

Vibratory ripper

In one aspect, the invention is directed to a conduit laying system for laying conduit, including a vehicle, a trench former, a conduit feed system and a base material handling system. The trench former is configured for forming a trench. The conduit feed system includes a conduit feed passage having a conduit feed passage inlet for receiving at least one conduit and a conduit feed passage outlet positioned to deposit the at least one conduit in the trench. The base material handling system includes a base material hopper and at least one base material passage. The at least one base material passage is positioned to receive base material from the base material hopper and to discharge base material in the trench around the at least one conduit. The base material handling system, the conduit feed system and the trench former are driven by the vehicle.

Conduit laying machine

A trenching plow adapted for attachment to a vehicle, the plow having an elongated shank having a blade formed along a lower portion of a leading edge of the shank, the blade having a first soil cutting surface along the leading edge, a first cutting arm pivotably arranged at a forward lower portion of one side of the shank generally parallel to the shank and a second cutting arm arranged at a forward lower portion of an opposite side of the shank generally parallel to the shank. Further, a drive means for reciprocating upper portions of the first arm and the second arm is used.

Trenching plow with reciprocating action

A plow trenching apparatus for a vehicle having a raisable boom structure, for example a skid steer vehicle. The apparatus comprises a tool attached to a tool mounting plate of the boom structure. The tool has an arm mounting plate, attachable to the tool mounting plate, a J-shaped curved arm having an arm mount arranged at one end and a plow holder mount arranged at the other end, a plow holder attachable to the plow holder mount, the plow holder mount permitting the plow holder to pivot horizontally, a plow attachable to the plow holder, and a hydraulic cylinder. The arm mount is attachable to the arm mounting plate via an arm pivot attachment. The curved arm is horizontally pivotable at the arm mount by the hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic cylinder is extendable and retractable and attached to the arm mounting plate via a hydraulic cylinder attachment and attached to the curved arm via an arm pivoting attachment arranged on the curved arm.

Pusher trencher

An isolation mount having a first mounting surface arranged on a vehicle. The first surface has substantially vertical first mounting lugs arranged at a lower end of the first surface, and a first fastening device for holding at least one pair of resilient device. The resilient devices comprise first resilient portions and second resilient portions. The first fastening device is preferably arranged at a top end of the first surface. The isolation mount further has a pivoting device, which has a first side facing the first surface, a second side facing away from the first surface and substantially vertical second mounting lugs arranged at a lower end of the first side of the pivoting device. The second mounting lugs are attachable to the first mounting lugs via pins to form a first hinge, about which the pivoting device is pivotable. The pivoting device further has resilient device holding device arranged at a top end of the pivoting device. The first resilient portions are arranged between the first side of the pivoting device and the first mounting surface whilst the second resilient portions are arranged on the second side of the pivoting device being pressed against the second side by a fourth resilient device holding device. The pivoting device is thus held between the first resilient portions and the second resilient portions at the top end of the pivoting device. The pivoting device is further fastened to a vibrating tool attachably mounted to the pivoting device via a second fastening device.

Isolation mount

Conventional cable-laying apparatus has been adapted for the removal of cable. A trenching plow blade is towed behind a bulldozer or the like. Mounted above the area of the blade is a powered cable-pulling assembly. Once an initial length of cable is excavated and routed to the cable pulling assembly, the equipment is advanced along the line of the cable to dig the trench, preferably just a small distance above the cable, such as about a foot, and the cable pulling assembly is driven to pull the cable from the ground behind the advanced blade. The cable may be routed to lie on the ground behind the advancing apparatus, or alternatively may be routed forward over the cab of the bulldozer onto a powered rewind reel. The cable pulling assembly includes a pulling wheel rotatably mounted to the blade support assembly, rotated by a hydraulic motor through a reduction gearbox. A series of rollers are mounted between two roller support arms. The roller support arms are connected to each other and pivotally mounted at one end to the blade support assembly, to rotate around a pivot pin. A hydraulic cylinder mounted between the blade support assembly and the roller support arms is operable to move the roller support arms to a closed position in which the rollers force the cable into the grooved portion of the pulling wheel, where teeth defined by the edges of squares rods into the cable to grip it securely for pulling.

Buried cable removal apparatus

A trenching plow blade having replaceable wear components is disclosed. A preferably octagonal rod with regularly spaced transverse holes drilled therethrough is welded to the leading edge of the blade. Replaceable leading edge cover pieces each have a channel therein with a shape complementary to the front face of the rod, and transverse holes adapted to align with the transverse holes in the rod. Pins are positioned through the holes to hold the covers in place. Preferably, straight and curved sections of the covers are provided as required. For the toe of the blade, a toe cover is preferably provided. The rod and covers may be supplied as a kit, which is readily installed since the only operation required is welding.

Replaceable edge for trenching plow blade

The invention provides automated adjustment of the height of a trenching blade. There is a blade holder having a generally vertical channel defined therein, and support means for carrying the blade holder behind a vehicle at a height above the ground. A trenching blade for dragging through the ground behind the vehicle has a shank portion extending upwardly therefrom into the channel and slidably engaging in the channel for vertical movement therewithin, whereby the depth of the blade may be varied. At least one hydraulic cylinder is connected between the blade holder and the blade shank for varying the position of the blade shank within the blade holder and thereby varying the depth of the blade. In the preferred embodiment, the support means is at the end of a boom which is pivotally connected to the vehicle for pivotal movement about a generally vertical axis, and the blade holder is pivotally mounted to the support means, for pivotal movement about a generally vertical axis. There is additionally at least one hydraulic cylinder connected between the blade holder and the support means for varying the angle in the horizontal plane between the blade holder and the support means, whereby the angle of the trenching blade may be varied to steer the movement of the blade through the ground.

Adjustable blade holder

The method of this invention is particularly, although not exclusively, adapted for effecting accelerated oxidation reactions in a downhole or deep well wet oxidation apparatus, including the processing of aqueous organic waste, such as municipal sludge. It includes injecting a multiple-phase composition which contains an oxygen or an oxygen-rich gas which is fully saturated with water vapor and which also contains water in the liquid phase into a wet oxidation reaction apparatus which contains an aqueous stream of combustible waste, preferably at the temperature and pressure of the waste stream at the point of injection. This reduces the likelihood of hazardous spontaneous combustion which may otherwise occur if dry spots are allowed to form in the reaction apparatus. The volume of water in the composition should be equal to at least twice the volume of water necessary to saturate the gas with water vapor to maintain at least 50 percent of the water in the liquid phase.

Method of effecting accelerated oxidation reaction

A process for reducing calcium, magnesium and aluminum salt scale build-up in continuous flow or plug flow tube reactors in which a fluid waste undergoes a chemical reaction under heat and pressure to form more environmentally desirable compounds. The process includes the injection of a precipitating reagent into the influent path of a fluid waste stream in a tube reactor to preferentially precipitate calcium, magnesium and aluminum ions which are then carried through and out of the reaction apparatus in a non-scale forming suspension.
