A sequestration injection valve including a housing, a flow valve disposed in the housing, an injector assembly, the assembly having a ported inner sleeve and a ported outer sleeve, the inner sleeve and outer sleeve moveable relative to one another to more align or more misalign the ports in the inner sleeve and outer sleeve. A method for injecting sequestration fluid into a borehole including applying pressure to a flow valve in an injection valve, moving an inner sleeve of an injector assembly with the pressure, and automatically maintaining pressure differential at the injector assembly. A borehole system including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, and a sequestration injection valve disposed within or as a part of the string.

Sequestration injection valve, method, and system

A latch system including a plurality of rocker latches, a rocker support, supporting the plurality of rocker latches, and a movement restrictor in operative connection with each rocker latch of the plurality of rocker latches, the movement restrictor allowing or restricting movement of each rocker latch of the plurality of rocker latches relative to the rocker support. A downhole tool including a sleeve movable relative to other portions of the tool, the sleeve having a profile at an uphole end thereof, an actuator runnable into contact with the sleeve, the actuator including the latch. Wet connect system and method

An injection valve including a primary valve having a flapper, a flapper seat configured to seat the flapper, and a flow tube disposed to move relative to the flapper and thereby cause the flapper to be unseated from the flapper seat, a secondary valve disposed within the flow tube, the secondary valve including a secondary housing, and an openable and closable flow port through the secondary housing, and an annular pressure-drop ring disposed between the secondary housing and the flow tube.

Injection valve and method

A downhole system includes a first tubular having a terminal end including a first connector portion, an inlet, an inner surface, an outer surface, and a first conduit extending between the inner surface and the outer surface fluidically exposed at the terminal end. A second tubular including a terminal end section having a second connector portion coupled to the first connector portion to form a joint, an inner surface section, an outer surface section, and a second conduit extending between the inner surface section and the outer surface section and fluidically exposed at the terminal end section. The first conduit is fluidically connected to the second conduit across the joint.

System and method for pressure isolation and relief across a threaded connection

A tubing pressure insensitive failsafe wireline retrievable safety valve, borehole system having the valve and method of operation of the valve. The valve includes a tool housing, a flow tube disposed within the tool housing, an actuation piston disposed in the tool housing and operably connected to the flow tube, the actuation piston having an actuation side and a pressure side, and a fluid pathway between a potential leak site for the valve and the pressure side of the piston. A temporary sealing member is in the fluid pathway between the potential leak site and the pressure side of the piston. The method includes disposing the valve at a selected location and removing at least a portion of the temporary sealing member from the fluid pathway after landing the wireline retrievable safety valve at the selected location.

Penetrator for a puncture communication tool and method

A tubing pressure insensitive, pressure compensated actuator system includes a housing having a bore therein. A force transmitter sealingly moveable within the bore. The force transmitter defining with the bore two fluid chambers. The two fluid chambers being in fluid communication with each other, one at each longitudinal end of the force transmitter. An activator in one or both of the two fluid chambers and operatively connected to the force transmitter. At least two seals sealingly positioned between the housing and the force transmitter. One of the seals disposed near one end of the force transmitter and another of the seals disposed near another end of the force transmitter. A separate compensation piston disposed in the housing so as to expose one end of the compensation piston to tubing pressure and to expose the other end of the compensation piston to a fluid volume including the fluid chambers. Also included is a method for reducing force requirements of an actuator.

Tubing pressure insensitive pressure compensated actuator for a downhole tool and method

The tool can run in and latch another tool such as a ball valve into a packer, for example. It has the capability of operating the valve while still engaged to the valve housing. Once the valve is operated and released a pressure test can be conducted while the tool is still engaged to the valve housing. After that a predetermined applied force allows release from the valve housing without the valve shifting mechanism still engaged. In a different configuration the tool can be a simple pulling tool to remove the valve housing without shifting it. The tool has a rotational lock to allow release from a packer by turning to the right. In another configuration it can be a latch tool for a production string that shifts the valve as it releases when the production string is pulled.

Anchor/shifting tool with sequential shift then release functionality

A unique landing nipple has spaced control line connections and external control lines running from the surface to those connections. A hydraulic barrier valve, such as a ball valve, is run in to a predetermined landing nipple and latched in position where the control line connections are in the right locations to operate the valve. A landing nipple with a latching groove alone can be used with a wireline run barrier valve to latch it into position at the desired location. A shifting tool is used to operate the mechanically actuated valve. More than one valve can be positioned or used in the string at a time or the same valve can also be positioned at different landing nipples at different times to meet the production needs of the well operator.
