A fused disconnect switch assembly includes a pull out fuse assembly and a switch housing assembly. The fuse assembly includes a line side conducting portion, a load side conducting portion, and a fuse element therebetween. The switch housing assembly includes a fuse receptacle for receiving the fuse, a first contact assembly coupled to the line side conducting portion of the fuse and a second contact assembly coupled to the load side conducting portion of the fuse when the fuse is inserted into the receptacle. An open fuse indication device is in communication with conducting portions of the fuse, and an alarm terminal output extends from the switch assembly housing and is in communication with the open fuse indication device. The open fuse indication device provides local fuse state indication and the alarm terminal output facilitates remote fuse state indication when coupled to external circuitry.

Compact fused disconnect switch

A fused disconnect switch includes at least one switch housing assembly having a housing defining a fuse receptacle and first and second terminal contact assemblies extending therefrom. At least one of the first and second contact assemblies is a bullet contact assembly, and a retractable fuse is received within the fuse receptacle. The fuse includes a primary fuse link and an open fuse indication device.

A fused disconnect switch assembly includes a switch housing assembly and a pull out fuse assembly. The switch housing assembly includes a housing defining a fuse receptacle, first and second terminal contacts within the housing and located adjacent the fuse receptacle, and an alarm terminal extending from the fuse receptacle to an exterior of the fuse housing. The pull out fuse assembly includes a housing, a line side terminal extending from the housing, a load side terminal extending from the housing, and a primary fuse having first and second conductive end caps. The fuse end caps are coupled to respective line side and load side terminals of the pull out fuse assembly housing, and the first and second terminal contacts of the switch housing assembly receive the load side and the line side terminal blades of the pull out fuse assembly.

Fused disconnect switch

A power supply disconnect device includes a main housing that fits within a power supply distribution panel; a receptacle in the main housing; a detachable fuse holder that fits within the main housing receptacle; first electrical contacts within the main housing that are engagable with a fuse in the fuse holder when the fuse holder is inserted in the main housing receptacle; the fuse holder includes two parts that are moveable relative to each other, and which can be moved into an open position for receiving the fuse and into a closed position for securing the fuse in the fuse holder; and an alarm fuse connected to the first electrical contacts so as to provide an alarm in the event that a fuse in the fuse holder is blown, the alarm fuse being located in the receptacle in the main housing.

Compact focused disconnect device

A pin indicating fuse construction incorporates a protective shield member that isolates an indicator assembly from a main-fuse link. By use of the inventive protective shield, arc-quenching filler may be excluded, resulting in a less-costly, more reliable fuse construction. The main fuse link is arranged within the fuse in such a manner so as to minimize potential interference with the actuator assembly during activation of the indicator assembly.

An arc quenching, current limiting fuse utilizing a fuse link having a plurally of bends which cause the fuse link to come in contact or come in close proximity to the inside wall of the fuse body. When a short circuit and electrical arc occurs, the fuse link material burns toward the fuse wall creating an interaction with the fuse wall and an increase in pressure which extinguishes the arc.

Current limiting fuse

The high speed fuse employs stamped end bell and terminals rather than forged or machined parts. A slot for the terminal is punched through the end bell. The terminal is inserted into the slot in the end bell and staked in position. This insures a strong tight fit without requiring welding or soldering. One end of each terminal has coined ridges to facilitate automatic welding of the fuse link to the terminals. Round balls are used to seal the fill holes for the arc quenching material. Metal pins secure the end bells within the fuse housing but are not electrically connected to the terminals because of the insulative end bells.

A high speed fuse 8 having elements 14 staked to non-electrically conductive end balls 12 with fusible element 30 connected to ridges 44 on terminal 14 by projection welding, and round balls 18 plugging sand holes 20.
