The disclosed principles provide for an RF front-end design capable of up-converting, down-converting, and conditioning broadband signals for wireless transmission with an instantaneous bandwidth of up to 3.5 GHz within the frequency range of 2-12 GHz. In addition, embodiments of the disclosed principles provide flexibility that enables RF front-ends designed as disclosed herein to be applied to many different applications including covert communications, drone communications, high data rate communications, signals intelligence, direction finding, multi-function apertures, radars and emulators, and electronic warfare. Embodiments and their related advantages and improvements of RF front-ends designed in accordance with the disclosed principles are discussed herein.

The detection system also includes a magnetic field generator that provides an oscillating magnetic field in the well and the detector, an oscillator circuit coupled to the detector, and a circuit coupled to the detector that detect the conjugated paramagnetic beads. A method includes applying a magnetic field to well of a substrate with conjugated paramagnetic beads, alternating the polarity of the magnetic field, detecting a waveform associated with the alternating magnetic field, and associating the waveform with the quantity of conjugated paramagnetic beads. An analyte detection kit includes a substrate with an attached antibody that is reactive to the analyte, a conjugated paramagnetic particle, and a conjugated paramagnetic particle detector.

In an automatic tuning system for a loop antenna having a single electronically variable reactance element, the reactive component sense of the antenna impedance is determined over a wide range of frequency. The electronically variable reactance component of the antenna is automatically minimized by a feedback loop driving a voltage variable capacitance until the reactive component of the antenna impedance is virtually zero and the antenna impedance is hence resistive. The adjustment of the electronically variable capacitance is by a variable high voltage power supply controlled by a feedback amplifier or by a high voltage feedback amplifier.

A monitoring device may activate a monitored unit (unit monitored by monitoring device) by transmitting a seed of an algorithm and a time synchronization to the monitored unit. The seed and time synchronization may be used in conjunction with an algorithm, e.g., frequency hopping table, stored in both the monitoring device and the monitored unit, to allow both the monitoring device and the monitored unit to communicate with one another at a uniquely synchronized time and frequency thereby making it more difficult for a third party to locate the monitored unit. An alert may be generated when the monitored unit is located beyond a predetermined zone. The monitored unit may be located by activating a directional antenna in conjunction with a digital compass on the monitoring device.

An apparatus, system, and method for enabling multi-frequency communication over a telephone network having a billing/tax tone are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a connection port operable to couple to a telephone network. An output port is coupled to the input port, and is operable to couple to a high frequency device. A trap is coupled between the connection port and the output port. The trap is tuned to isolate the high frequency device from the telephone network at a specified frequency range.

Apparatus system and method for enabling multi-frequency communication over a telephone network having a billing/tax tone

A system for processing an input signal communicated on a telephone line includes an input node to receive the input signal. The input signal comprises a first component associated with a first frequency band, a second component associated with a second frequency band higher than the first frequency band, and a third component associated with a third frequency band higher than the second frequency band. A first filter coupled to the input node receives the input signal, attenuates the first and third components, and communicates a first signal substantially comprising the second component. A second filter coupled to the input node receives the input signal, attenuates the second component, and communicates a second signal substantially comprising the first and third components. A third filter coupled to the second filter receives the second signal, attenuates the third component, and communicates a third signal substantially comprising the first component. An intermediate node coupled between the second and third filter may also couple to a fourth filter having an input capacitance that limits the ability of the third filter to pass the second component. In a more particular embodiment, the system is a POTS splitter, the first component is an analog telephone signal, the second component is a tax/billing tone, and the third signal is a digital data signal.
