A granular cohered MOP fertilizer having one or more micronutrients, and one or more binding ingredients. The fertilizer is prepared by compacting MOP feed material with a source of zinc and one or more optional binders to form a cohered MOP composition. The cohered MOP composition is then further processed, such as by crushing and sizing, to form a cohered granular MOP product containing a source of zinc. The process yields a fertilizer product containing micronutrients with superior elemental and granule size distribution without compromising handling or storage qualities.

Compacted muriate of potash fertilizers containing micronutrients and methods of making same

A granular cohered MOP fertilizer having one or more micronutrients, and one or more binding ingredients. The fertilizer is prepared by compacting MOP feed material with one or more micronutrients and one or more optional binders to form a cohered MOP composition. The cohered MOP composition is then further processed, such as by crushing and sizing, to form a cohered granular MOP product containing micronutrients. The process yields a fertilizer product containing micronutrients with superior elemental and granule size distribution without comprising handling or storage qualities.

An apparatus to accurately hold an optical fiber within a commercial fiber optic connector. The connector has a first high precision slice having multiple holes of a first area and a first alignment opening and a second high precision slice having multiple holes of a second area and a second alignment opening. The holes of the first high precision slice are arranged relative to the first alignment opening so that, when the second high precision slice and the first high precision slice are juxtaposed with one another and the first alignment opening and the second alignment opening are aligned, the holes of the first high precision slice and the holes of the second high precision slice will be offset relative to each other and will define an opening having an area less than a smaller of the first area and second area. The opening is capable of closely constraining an optical fiber inserted therethrough. A method of making a fiber optic connector adapted to receive a fiber bearing unit involves coupling at least two high precision pieces, having misaligned holes relative to each other, together coupling the at least two high precision pieces to a low precision piece to form a unit, inserting optical fibers into the unit, terminating the fibers in the holes, and housing the unit within a fiber optic connector housing.

Multi-piece fiber optic component and manufacturing technique

A method of making A fiber optic connector adapted to receive a fiber bearing unit involves coupling at least one high precision piece, having holes configured to accept an array of optical fibers, to a low precision piece to form a unit, inserting optical fibers into the unit and housing the unit within a fiber optic connector housing. A commercial fiber optic connector of a style constructed to accept a ferrule-like unit therein has a connector housing, at least 36 optical fibers, a low precision piece, and at least one high precision slice having at least 36 fiber holes each adapted to accept one of the optical fibers, the low precision piece and the at least one high precision slice being contained substantially within the connector housing and forming the ferrule like unit.

An apparatus for use in a commercial fiber optic connector is made up of an assembly of a set of slices. Each of the slices having multiple through holes of a specified arrangement. At least some of the through holes on any two adjoining slices are aligned with respect to each other so as to define a conduit between them. A transmission medium is within the holes. A method of making a fiber optic connector adapted to receive a fiber bearing unit is also described. The method involves coupling at least two high precision pieces together, the at least two high precision pieces having holes configured with an optical medium inserted therein after the coupling and cured to form a waveguide structure, coupling the at least two high precision pieces to a low precision piece to form a unit, and housing the unit within a fiber optic connector housing.

A kick start assist system uses a standard motorcycle kick starter that is installed onto the motorcycle and which kick starter turns the motorcycle's engine over which engine turning is detected by the kick start assist system and which causes the system to energize the standard electrical starting system of the motorcycle in order to start the engine of the motorcycle.

Kick starter assist system

An adjustable tethering device for various objects, including horses and other animals, includes a tie arm attachment structure, an elongated tie arm, a brace and a support structure which includes a bearing surface. The tie arm has one end pivotally attached to the tie arm attachment structure. The other end of the tie arm has an attachment point to which a lead of the object being restrained, such as a horse, may be attached. One end of the brace is pivotally attached to the tie arm between the tie arm attachment structure and the attachment point. The opposite end of the brace is supported by the bearing surface of the support structure when the tie arm is in an elevated position. In one embodiment, the tie arm attachment structure and the support structure comprise a single C channel. When used on a structure such as a trailer the adjustable tethering device may be adjusted between a travel position and one or more elevated positions. In various embodiments, when the device is in the travel position the tie arm and the brace are nestingly received in the C channel which comprises the fixed support. In various embodiments, a portion of the tie arm comprises a flexible material.

Adjustable tethering device and method

A brake monitor for monitoring air brake adjustment as measured by push rod travel distance is comprised of a bracket straddling the push rod clevis of the brake system. The clevis pin connecting the push rod clevis to the slack adjuster and secured to the slack adjuster by a socket set screw, extends beyond the boundary of the push rod clevis and is received within a transducer attached to the bracket. Clevis pin rotation causes transducer output, corresponding to specific angular rotation of the clevis pin, which output is received by a display device of any appropriate type and communicated to the user. The system can be equipped with a black box-type memory for use by accident investigative authorities.

Brake monitor

An obstruction sensing door reverser attachable to an existing electromechanically operated door opener having existing current carrying stop and open loops; having at least one external obstruction switch disposed in a current carrying loop communicating the presence of the obstruction to the door reverser for stopping movement of the door and further more initiating and holding an open signal on the door operator open loop for predetermined period of time to open the door.

Method and apparatus for remotely reversing electromechanical door

A system is disclosed which may readily be added to an existing system of phones and electrical outlets. It includes circuitry that, responsive to sensing of a condition, seizes a telephone line, dials a single digit and introduces a preferably beeping signal into the line to warn the switchboard operator of the sensed condition. The system repeats the cycle until the sensed condition ceases.
