The present invention provides a high power LED electro-optic assembly () including conductive heat sink () and an LED () mounted at one end of the heat sink. The LED () is in electrical engagement with the heat sink (). The assembly () also includes a reflector () mounted at the other end of the heat sink. An insulating bond material () is provided between the reflector and the sink. The assembly () further includes a conductive bonding pin () extending through the reflector () and is in conductive engagement therewith and an electrical engagement () which electrically engages the pin () to the LED (). Finally, an electric sleeve assembly () where the sleeve () is coated with an electrical insulating coating () is applied to the LED electro-optic assembly.

A method and apparatus for controlling the operation of a gas discharge including regulation of power provided to the lamp for maintaining constant light output throughout the lamp's life. A circuit is provided that continuously monitors the lamp voltage and current. A lamp resistance is determined by dividing the lamp voltage with the lamp current. Based on the lamp resistance, the power provided to the lamp is adjusted to maintain constant light output from the lamp.

Constant light output circuit and electrical components based thereon

A shielded radiation assembly provides easy access to a radiation treatment space while minimizing radiation leakage. The shielded radiation assembly includes a support structure and a radiation shield supported on the support structure. A radiation emitting device is movably supported on the support structure for movement independent of the radiation shield. The radiation shield may be flexible, including a plurality of radiation shielding sections which are supported by the support structure. The radiation shielding section may be formed of the radiation absorbing material.

Shielded radiation assembly

A dispensing system detects system blockages in a delivery system due to curing or pack-out between a fluid source and a fluid dispense valve. The dispensing system automatically compensates for blockages in the delivery system by diverting fluid flow from one fluid circuit line to a parallel fluid circuit line leading to a dispensing valve.

Blockage compensating dispense system

An apparatus for projecting electromagnetic radiation onto a curing surface. The apparatus includes a housing containing the curing surface. The housing also includes a source of electromagnetic radiation and an elongate primary concave reflector. The source of electromagnetic radiation is positioned within an expanse defined by the primary reflector. The housing also includes a secondary reflector positioned adjacently exterior to the primary reflector expanse. The primary reflector and the secondary reflector operate to reflect and redirect radiation emanating from said source onto said curing surface.

System for optical curing

An inverter circuit for providing an AC driver voltage for a capacitive load from a DC input voltage. The circuit uses a pair of balanced transistors supplying a split primary winding of a transformer, a feedback winding thereof being coupled thereto to supply a feedback signal to the transistor inputs. Resistors are used to optimize inverter efficiency by adjusting transformer saturation and the DC bias of the drive transistors. A capacitor is connected across the two primaries to provide harmonic suppression an aid in starting the inverter. A second capacitor, connected from base to collector of the transistors opposite the transistor with DC bias being introduced, provides suppression of undesirable high frequencies which will occur if this capacitor is not present. The AC output is supplied from the secondary winding of the transformer.

Internally excited, controlled transformer saturation, inverter circuitry

The crystal is solid CdTe or GaAs for modulating a laser beam. The mount comprises Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 or BeO ceramic between the crystal and a U-shaped aluminum housing on three sides to provide low stray capacitance and high thermal conductivity to the cooled housing. A layer of lead between the ceramic and the housing enhances the acoustic damping of the structure. Electrodes are attached to the crystal, with lead used to enhance dissipation of acoustic energy. in contacting flexible tabs on the electrodes with terminals no pressure or stress is transmitted to the crystal, thereby eliminating a problem of stress-induced birefringence.

An RF discharge waveguide laser is modulated by an electro-optic modulator positioned in a second optical cavity coupled to a gain cavity containing the waveguide.

Coupled waveguide freespace laser

An optical sensor has a gain medium situated at a first location and defines one end of a resonating optical cavity. An optical fiber couples electromagnetic radiation to a predetermined point at a second location where it is directed toward a reflective surface. The physical condition to be sensed causes the reflective surface to move with respect to the end of the optical fiber. This movement essentially changes the length of the cavity in which the electromagnetic energy is resonating causing a corresponding change in the axial mode difference frequency within the cavity. A small portion of electromagnetic energy is coupled out of the cavity at the first location to a photodetector. Finally, the photodetector creates an electrical signal which varies as the change in the axial mode difference frequency, thus indicating the change in the physical condition.
