The invention provides a lighting system () with at least two subsets (SS, AS) of light sources, wherein one or more first subsets (SS, SS, . . . ) provide first light () mimicking the solar light (during the day) and with the first light () having a variable direction, and wherein one or more second subsets (AS, . . . ) provide second light () mimicking the sky (without the sun, as the sun is provided by the first subset(s))(during the day). Especially, the color and/or color temperature of the first light () is variable, in addition the variability in direction. The lighting system may further comprise a control system () configured to control the color and intensity of the first light and/or second light.

A lighting track support structure comprises a base section and opposing side sections. These sections are rollable for transportation in a roll. The invention provides a lighting panel, for use for example within a modular surface system, comprising one or more strips of solid state lighting elements associated with a reflector structure. The lighting panel is adapted for improved uniformity of light intensity across the width of its output area. Lighting elements comprise two or more subsets, each subset adapted to collectively generate a different light intensity profile across the width of the panel output window. The subsets are selectively adapted to generate profiles which, when blended, mutually offset one another's deviations from some common mean intensity across the width of the output window, thereby generating a combined intensity profile of improved uniformity. Embodiments include arrangements in which subsets of lighting elements are adapted to have differing actual or virtual optical path lengths to the reflector surface. Also provided are embodiments further comprising an acoustically absorbing back surface, for providing an acoustic dampening function.

There is provided a light-emitting acoustic panel that may be mounted in a ceiling. The light-emitting acoustic panel comprises a sound-absorbing layer and a light-transmissive layer arranged in parallel such that a space is formed in-between. In the space a light source and a reflector are arranged such that light emitted by the light source is redirected by the reflector and emitted towards a reflective side of the sound-absorbing layer. There is further a duct arranged through the light-emitting acoustic panel. In the duct, devices providing functionalities such as sensing, sound, lighting may be arranged. The outer surface of the duct, facing the space between the sound-absorbing layer and the light-transmissive layer comprises a specularly reflective surface.

A device for use in molecular diagnostics testing includes at least one sealed reagent storage container, and at least one opener for unsealing the reagent storage container. The device further includes an actuator coupled to the reagent storage container and opener such that moving the actuator brings the reagent storage container and the opener together so that the opener unseals the reagent storage container. A fluid control and processing system comprising a cartridge and an instrument for operating the cartridge. The cartridge comprises a cylinder body comprising a cylinder and a fluid port.
