A lighting device including a test device for testing the proper operation of a primary and a secondary power supply alternatively providing electrical power to the light. The test device is attached to a bracket using a single fastener such as a nut and the bracket is attached to a receptacle for the light using a different single fastener, such as a pop-rivet or screw.

A bar hanger assembly is provided for supporting a recessed electrical device in a ceiling support. The bar hanger includes first and second telescoping support arms that are slidably connected together for adjusting the length of the bar hanger. The support arms having an elongated body with first and second ends and a mounting plate coupled to the first end. The mounting plate is oriented substantially perpendicular to the plane of the body. An attachment member is coupled to a bottom edge of the mounting plate for attaching to the bottom edge of a ceiling joist. The attachment member includes a detent extending from one side thereof. The attachment member can be bent from a first position perpendicular to the mounting plate to a second position parallel to the mounting plate for attaching to a T-bar support.

Integral nail bar hanger for recessed luminaire

A lighting fixture assembly with easy access to a junction box or electrical box having a mounting frame adapted to be coupled to a wall in an architectural space. Through an opening in the frame or ceiling, a luminaire is coupled to the mounting frame for projecting light through the opening. A support, such as a substantially U-shaped bracket having legs with first and second lengths, is coupled to the mounting frame and to the electrical box for supporting the electrical box in a position tilted towards the opening. This provides easy access and viewing through the opening from below the mounting frame when the luminaire is not located in the opening.

Lighting fixture assembly with easy access junction box

A recessed electrical fixture assembly that includes first and second support members that are spaced and substantially parallel, and include first and second opposing inner surfaces, respectfully. A barrier is releasably coupled to the first and second inner surfaces of the first and second support members to define an enclosure with at least one open side. A fire resistant housing is at least partially received in the enclosure defined by the barrier and is releasably coupled to the first and second support members. The fire resistant housing includes an opening corresponding to the open side of the enclosure and an electrical unit is received in the fire resistant housing.
