Mop swab holder

A manual squeegee device for the movement of residual liquid on a surface, the squeegee device including a support element, first and second elongate blade holders and a coupling, the blade holders being in spaced apart generally parallel relationship, and each supporting a respective first and second non-absorbent flexible elongate blade each of which provides a wiping edge, the wiping edges lying in or substantially in a common plane, the support element being between the spaced apart blade holders and carrying the coupling, the coupling permitting of engagement with a handle, and permitting the handle in use to pivot universally relative to the support element.

Squeegee device

A mophead includes a holder having an attachment location for attaching flexible absorbent mop material to the holder, and an attachment member which is spaced from the mop material attachment location and which can directly engage a scrub element with the holder independently of the mop material. The attachment member is a, preferably elongate bar, clamp which, in use, presses the scrub element directly to the mophead to clamp it thereto.

Mophead

A mop wringer is provided in combination with an adaptor. The mop wringer comprises a base and one or more sides which are formed as a one-piece moulding and which define an unadapted channel in which a stranded mop head can be wrung out. The mop wringer also has one or more openings in the base and/or the side(s) through which fluid can drain. The adaptor is releasably insertable into the wringer to define either alone or together with the wringer an adapted channel which is of smaller cross-sectional dimensions than the unadapted channel and in which a head of a flat mop can be wrung out.

A cleaning chemical dispensing system includes: a liquid chemical additive having a predetermined viscosity; a mop bucket; a mop wringer provided on the bucket; a first indicator indicating a first volume of cleaning liquid in the bucket; and a reservoir for the additive, the reservoir positioned above the first indicator, and having a base, one or more upstanding walls continuously contiguous with and fully surrounding the base, an opening opposite the base for pouring the additive into the reservoir, a metering orifice in the base, and a second indicator indicating a second volume for the additive which corresponds to the first volume of the bucket so as to provide a required ratio of additive to cleaning liquid, the orifice being dimensioned to correspond to the predetermined viscosity of the additive, so that the additive can be poured into the reservoir before any significant amount of additive passes through the orifice.

Cleaning chemical dispensing method

A connector includes first and second engagable components for mounting on an implement and a handle. The first component has a boss formed with an internal socket and an outer peripheral surface surrounding the socket, and the second component includes an insert member, a sleeve member which is independent of the insert member, and parts for interengaging the insert and sleeve members when the insert member is received in the sleeve member. The insert member has an insert portion engagable within an opening in the end of the handle and a spigot portion adapted to fit within the internal socket of the boss. The sleeve member has a first portion engagable with the external surface of the end of the handle, and a second portion engagable with the outer peripheral surface of the first component.

Connector

A connector for connecting a shaft to an implement, for example for connecting a handle to a mop head, comprises two engageable components for mounting on a shaft and an implement respectively. One of the components has a boss formed with an internal threaded socket and an outer peripheral surface. The other component has a central threaded spigot which screws into the socket, and a shroud, surrounding the spigot and spaced therefrom, which is internally tapered and frictionally engages the outer surface of the boss for added support.

Connector for detachably connecting a shaft to an implement

Cleaning devices disclosed are alternatively usable as a sweep mop in a conventional wet or damp mopping operation, or in a wiping or polishing operation. Such a device comprises a mop pad holder having attachment means for the attachment of a mop pad and for the separate attachment of a sheet of wiping or polishing material.

Cleaning devices

Cleaning equipment comprises a container, such as a bucket usable for mopping, from which cleaning liquid is taken and to which that liquid is returned after it has been used for dirt removal. The container is provided with a dirt trap comprising a dirt-receiving element of mat or pad-like form which is positioned in the container to receive dirt settling under gravity from the contained liquid. The dirt which settles out collects in, or alternatively passes through so as to be trapped below, the element or mat. The form and structure of the element is such that disturbance of the liquid in the container cannot wash the collected dirt back out into the main body of liquid from, or through, the element to any significant extent.

Cleaning equipment

A sweep mop pad holder comprises a central support section with a handle mounting on its upper side, and two end sections. The end sections are pivotally mounted on the central section and they are engageable with a mop pad which is thereby securely held on the pad holder, with the end sections retained in a generally aligned erected position. One end section is extended inwardly beyond the handle mounting so that whereas with the holder collapsed both end sections can hand down freely for wringing out of the mop pad, the handle can be so positioned relatively to the support section that it engages the inward extension of the one section and can be used to support that end section whereby the mop can be re-erected by engagement of the collapsed mop with the floor by an operative holding the handle.

Sweep mops

A cleaning appliance has a head portion 1 with a rearwardly projecting handle section 5, and presents at the front end opposed jaw members 2 and 3 between which a squeegee blade assembly 4, or another device such as a scraper blade or duster attachment, can be releasably clamped. The clamping arrangement comprises an operating level 8 disposed at a front upper surface 1a of the head portion 1 and positioned for single-handed operation by an operator using the thumb or forefinger of the hand in which the handle section is held.

Cleaning appliance

A mopping unit comprises a bucket, a wringer with two squeeze rollers mounted at the top of the bucket, and an operating mechanism to produce relative closing movement of the rollers. The operating mechanism comprises a foot pedal mounted at a lower level on the bucket and a toggle operating linkage operative on depression of the pedal to produce the relative closing movement of the rollers. At the end of the closing movement of the rollers the toggle linkage goes over-center to lock the rollers at a predetermined spacing in an operative mop-wringing position.
