An observation wheel type ride includes a support structure, a wheel which is rotatable mounted in the support structure and/or includes a transportation device movably supported on the wheel, and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a rotary drive and a drive cable, wherein a section of the drive cable is detachably fixed to a circumference of the wheel and/or to the transportation device for transmitting the rotary movement of the rotary drive to the wheel and/or to the transportation device. A deflection assembly deflects in a lateral direction with respect to the wheel that section of the drive cable, which is led over the rotary drive.

Observation wheel type ride

An amusement ride includes a support structure generally having the shape of a vertical standing arch that spans from a first ground base to a second ground base. Movably supported on the support structure is at least one vehicle for carrying one or more passengers at least partially along a length of the support structure from an initial loading position at one of the first and second ground bases. The vehicle is hereby lifted by a lifting device from the initial loading position upwards along the support structure and slowed down by a braking mechanism when it travels from an elevated position in a downward direction along the support structure.

Amusement ride

An amusement ride includes a support structure and at least one vehicle movably supported on the support structure for carrying one or more passengers at least partially along a length of the support structure. The vehicle is moved along the support structure by a drive mechanism and decelerated by a braking mechanism. A cable connects the vehicle with the drive mechanism and/or the braking mechanism and is guided by a guide mechanism which is constructed for passage by the vehicle as the vehicle moves along the support structure. The guide mechanism includes two guide wheels in spaced-apart confronting relationship for allowing the cable to pass in-between the guide wheels, with the cable partially running over one guide wheel, when the vehicle moves along a first section of the support structure, and partially running over the other guide wheel, when the vehicle moves along a second section of the support structure.

Attraction consisting of a number of gondolas arranged a fixed distance apart which move along a fixed endless track, such as a circle. By this means a difference in height of at least approximately 30 meters is travelled. The gondolas are linked to one another in such a way that the distance between them remains constant and are guided along a track by means of a roller construction. Driving takes place with the aid of a drive cable and with the aid of a supporting platform that can turn with respect to the gondolas it is ensured that the users are always in the same position.

Attraction

This invention relates to an amusement device and method for using an amusement device. The amusement device comprises a guideway being pivotable around a swivel axis, the axis being transverse to the guideway, and a bearing frame carrying, at a distance from the ground, the guideway wherein a passenger carrier is mounted to said guideway and in that the passenger carrier is movable along said guideway. Preferably the guideway is rotatable around an essentially vertical rotation axis.
