A modular waterproof therapeutic electrode component for preventing water ingress and for easy servicing. The component comprises a substrate comprising a conductive surface, a reservoir of conductive fluid mounted on the substrate, a reusable waterproof enclosure comprising circuitry, the reusable waterproof enclosure comprising circuitry configured to be removably coupled to the substrate, and a fluid deployment device in electrical communication with the circuitry and mounted on the substrate, the fluid deployment device configured to cause the reservoir to release the conductive fluid onto the conductive surface to reduce electrical impedance between the conductive surface and skin of a subject.

Modular ingress protected electrode system for a wearable defibrillator

A gel deployment device for use with an electrotherapy system is provided. The device includes a plurality of gel reservoirs disposed on a substrate, each of the plurality of gel reservoirs containing conductive gel. Each of the gel reservoirs are positioned adjacent to at least one seal such that the seal restricts flow of the conductive gel. The seal can be configured to release the conductive gel from the gel reservoir in response to pressure being applied about a perimeter of the seal at, for example, multiple points about the perimeter or substantially equally about the perimeter of the seal. In an example, each gel reservoir can be shaped such that the gel reservoir partially or fully surrounds a seal. In another example, multiple gel reservoirs can be arranged in clusters such that the multiple gel reservoirs are positioned about a single seal.

Conductive gel release and distribution devices

A therapy electrode apparatus for dispensing conductive gel to skin of a patient wearing a wearable defibrillator includes a therapy electrode, at least one reservoir comprising the conductive gel, and a gel deployment device comprising at least two reactive chemicals. The at least one reservoir is configured to release the conductive gel between the therapy electrode and a patient's skin prior to a delivery of one or more therapeutic shocks. The gel deployment device configured to, on receiving a treatment signal from a controller of the wearable defibrillator operably connected to the gel deployment device, cause the at least two reactive chemicals to come into contact to produce a pressurized fluid to release the conductive gel from the at least one reservoir between the therapy electrode and the patient's skin.

Systems, devices, and methods for providing electrotherapy

A gel deployment device for use with an electrotherapy system includes a substrate and a conductive surface mechanically coupled to the substrate. The device includes one or more gel reservoirs disposed on the substrate, each surrounding an open center portion, and a fluid pressure source in fluid communication with the one or more gel reservoirs. At least one frangible seal is disposed within the open center portion and configured to release a volume of conductive gel from the one or more gel reservoirs to the conductive surface.

Systems, devices and methods for providing a pressurized fluid for facilitating conductive gel release prior to providing cardiac therapy to a patient are disclosed. A first system can include a chemical reaction chamber including a first chemical and a second chemical isolated from each other by a mechanical barrier. The mechanical barrier is configured to be compromised upon receiving a signal from an electrotherapy device controller such that the first chemical and second chemical come into contact to produce a sufficient amount of pressurized fluid. An alternative system can include a pressure source comprising a reservoir containing a pressurized fluid. The pressure source can also include at least one release mechanism configured to cause a release of the pressurized fluid from the reservoir to an exit port of the pressure source when a wearable medical device is preparing to deliver a therapeutic shock to a patient.
