An acoustic imaging system responsive to an acoustic wave emitted from an object is disclosed. The system detects a deflection angle of an electromagnetic probe beam as it passes through a coupling element. The coupling element also couples the acoustic wave emitted from the object to an acoustic detector. The probe beam deflection angle is related to an angle of propagation of the acoustic wave through the coupling element. A filtering unit is configured to remove components of the signal from the acoustic detector that are outside of a range of angles, thereby improving the angular resolution of the acoustic detector. The acoustic wave may be generated by an acoustic source, such as an ultrasound transmitter, or an electromagnetic source such as a laser.

Method and apparatus for imaging with reduced level of off-axis artifacts

Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable mediums for exercise behavior prediction are provided. In a particular embodiment, the prediction evaluation controller is configured to generate an exercise activity pattern based on correlations between scheduling of a user's historical non-exercise events and the user's historical exercise events. In the particular embodiment, the prediction evaluation controller is also configured to generate, based on the generated exercise activity pattern, by the prediction evaluation controller, a future exercise event to correspond with a future non-exercise event scheduled on the user's calendar. In the particular embodiment, the prediction evaluation controller is also configured to provide an indication of the generated future exercise event.

Exercise behavior prediction

Variations in a translucent medium are imaged by detecting deflections and/or polarization shifts in a probe beam transmitted through the translucent medium. Deflections and polarization shifts may be detected using a first polarizing filter positioned between a probe beam generator and the translucent medium to polarize the probe beam in a first direction, a beam splitter positioned to receive the probe beam after it has been transmitted through the medium, and a probe beam deflection detector that receives a first split beam and provides a deflection signal associated with refractive index variations in the medium. A second polarizing filter receives a second split beam and polarizes it in a second direction, perpendicular to the first direction. An intensity sensor receives the second split beam, after it has passed through the second polarizing filter, and provides an intensity signal associated with a polarization shift in the medium.

Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable mediums for waistband monitoring analysis for a user are provided. In a particular embodiment, a waistband monitoring device is configured to generate a motion pattern based on motion data from a motion sensor coupled to the waistband monitoring device; receive physiological data generated by a physiological sensor coupled to the waistband monitoring device, wherein the physiological data indicates at least one vital sign of the user; identify an activity of the user that corresponds to the motion data and the physiological data; and generate an analysis of the user's performance of the identified activity based on the motion data and the physiological data.

Waistband monitoring analysis for a user

In a particular embodiment, methods, apparatuses, computer program products, and devices for tactile messaging include receiving motion data from an accelerometer within a wearable device and determining that the received motion data matches a particular defined motion pattern of a plurality of defined motion patterns. In the particular embodiment, tactile messaging includes in response to determining that the received motion data matches the particular defined motion pattern, identifying one or more recipients and a message content that correspond to the particular defined motion pattern. Tactile messaging, according to the particular embodiment, also includes in response to identifying the one or more recipients and the message content that correspond to the particular defined motion pattern, initiating transmission, to the identified one or more recipients, a text message that includes the message content.

Tactile messaging via a wearable device

A seed treating and conveying apparatus includes an elongated auger unit on which a liquid chemical applicator tank is mounted for treating the seeds as they are conveyed through the auger tube. The auger includes a central shaft having brush flighting thereon for gentle handling of the seeds as well as for picking up treatment and thoroughly and uniformly applying it to the seeds. The auger unit is pivotally supported for adjusting the position of the discharge end without moving the vehicle on which it is mounted.

In one embodiment, the auger unit is mounted on a slide track so as to be both longitudinally and pivotally movable. In another embodiment, the auger unit is removable from the associated large seed hopper for use in filling the hopper.
