Methods for reducing storage demands at a centralized database and for reducing probability of a security breach such as an interception attack and a man-in-the-middle attack. Methods may include obtaining a document at the edge computing device. Methods may further include storing the document at the edge computing device. Methods may include executing, using a processor, on the edge computing device, a hashing algorithm on the document. Methods may include outputting, using the processor, a hash-value that is an outcome of the hashing algorithm, where the hash-value corresponds to the document. Methods may include transmitting, using the processor, the hash-value to the centralized database over a low bandwidth communication line while maintaining a storage of the hash-value at the edge computing device. Methods may include storing the hash-value at the centralized database. The hash-value may provide a condensed representation of the document.

Document retention and generation at the edge

An apparatus includes a display device that displays an input document in a user interface and at least one processor configured to receive a command to determine a document type of the input document and classify the input document to assign at least one document type and a respective confidence score. The processor assigns a significance score to each word of the input document that is indicative of a degree of influence the word has in deciding that the input document is of the at least one document type. The processor determines a level of visual emphasis to be placed on each word of the input document based on the significance score of the word and displays the input document on the display device with each word of the input document visually emphasized in accordance with the determined level of visual emphasis of the word.

Classification of documents

A method of creating a price prediction model that forecasts short-term price fluctuations in financial instruments by collecting, analyzing and classifying financial news for a financial instrument into categories. Distributions for the changes in price of the financial instrument for a set period of time and distributions for the changes in price of the financial instrument as a result of the financial news for each news category for a set period of time are then obtained. If the distributions for the changes in price of the financial instrument are statistically significantly different than the distributions for the changes in price of the financial instrument for a particular news category, and the mean for the change in price is greater or less than zero, a signal is produced indicating the trading action that should be taken for the financial instrument.
