Systems and methods for verifying individuals prior to distribution of one or more benefits are disclosed. One example method includes receiving, at an interface peripheral of a payment card device, a biometric from an individual associated with the device and comparing the received biometric to a biometric reference stored in a memory of the device. The method also includes, in response to the received biometric matching the biometric reference, setting a biometric status in the memory of the device for an expiration interval and enabling the device for transactions to be funded by an account linked to the device, based on the biometric status being set. The method then includes, in response to expiration of the expiration interval, resetting the biometric status in the device and disabling the device for transactions to be funded by the account, based on the biometric status not being set.

Methods and systems for verifying individuals prior to benefits distribution

Systems and methods for verifying individuals prior to distribution of one or more benefits are disclosed. One exemplary method includes receiving, at a server, a proof-of-life validation from a payment service provider. The proof-of-life validation is based on receipt of a valid biometric from the individual at a payment device associated with the individual, and a transaction using said payment device. The method further includes distributing the benefit to a benefit account associated with the individual, when the proof-of-life validation is received within a time interval of the benefit distribution date.

Pursuant to some embodiments, systems, methods, apparatus, and means for conducting payment transactions using mobile devices are provided in which a mobile device is presented at a point of sale for use in a payment transaction. A selection of a primary account is received from a user of the mobile device, and the mobile device automatically identifies a product type of the primary payment account. The mobile device selects and transmits a proxy payment account identifier having a product type equivalent to the product type of the primary payment account to the point of sale for use in the payment transaction. The point of sale causes a first payment authorization request message to be routed to an issuer of the proxy payment account.

Methods and systems for providing a payment account with adaptive interchange

According to some embodiments, supplemental information about a consumer is determined, the consumer being associated with a first level of credit availability. One of a plurality of potential credit migration paths may then be selected for the consumer based on the supplemental information. Each potential credit migration path may, for example, begin at the first level of credit availability, include a plurality of intermediate credit products, and end at a level of credit availability higher than the first level. An offer for an intermediate credit product may then be transmitted to the consumer based on the selected credit migration path.
