A catheter that comprises a catheter configured for housing at least a portion of a catheter configured for insertion into a body lumen in proximity of a targeted anatomical site and having an imager at a distal end thereof and an adjustable chamber configured for covering the imager. The catheter is configured for introducing a wave conductive medium to the adjustable chamber to increase wave conductivity between the targeted anatomical site and the imager.

Method and system for intrabody imaging

This application presents to an endoscope having a compact distal tip, and to a method for constructing same. In some embodiments one or more optical and sensing elements are mounted directly on an internal surface of a lumen within an external housing, which housing comprises an outer wall of the endoscope tip. Space saved by eliminating intervening containing elements can be used to enhance endoscope performance and/or reduce endoscope size.

A method of examining internal body portions of patients. The method includes providing an imaging capsule including an image capturing unit, mounting the imaging capsule on a first elongate tube suitable for insertion into a body cavity, in a manner which prevents release of the imaging capsule from the first elongate tube within a body cavity, inserting the first elongate tube with the capsule mounted thereon into a patient, retracting the first elongate tube from the patient, separating the imaging capsule from the first elongate tube, disposing of the first elongate tube, mounting the imaging capsule on a second elongate tube and inserting the second elongate tube with the imaging capsule mounted thereon into a patient.

Endoscope with imaging capsule

An endoscopic imaging catheter is configured for insertion, optionally via a longitudinal channel of an endoscopic insertion tube. The endoscopic imaging catheter includes reflecting and optical elements and an imaging element. The reflecting element reflects onto the imaging element through the optical element side and rear views of at least a portion, or the entire 360&#xb0; view of a wall encircling an intrabody lumen around the axis of said the longitudinal channel.

Endoscopic sheath with illumination

Apparatus and method for real-time endovaginal sonography guidance of intra-uterine and cervical procedures are provided. The apparatus comprises an assembly, including: (a) an endovaginal ultrasound transducer for insertion into a portion of a patient's vagina; (b) a cervical holder, including: (i) two arms having a securing member; and (ii) two holders, the holders for holding the patient's cervix; and (c) a connector for connecting the ultrasound transducer to the cervical holder, the ultrasound transducer featuring substantially small diameter for allowing a surgeon to perform the procedure. The method comprises: (a) holding a patient's cervix by means of a cervical holder(a) inserting an endovaginal ultrasound transducer into a portion of the patient's vagina, the ultrasound transducer and the cervical holder being inter-connected by means of a connector; (c) performing the procedure; and (d) monitoring the procedure by means of the ultrasound transducer. According to another embodiment, the method comprises: (a) inserting an image transmitting device into a patients uterine cavity; (b) inserting an endovaginal ultrasound transducer into a portion of the patient's vagina, the ultrasound transducer and the image transmitting device being inter-connected by means of a connector; (c) performing the procedure; and (d) monitoring the procedure by means of the ultrasound transducer and the image transmitting device.
