A method for extracting a sought signal from a noisy signal. The method includes sampling a plurality of samples in a series of cycles of the noisy signal wherein each sample having an n-bit sampled value (n≥1), giving rise to a plurality of samples each associated with a respective cycle of the series, wherein each sample is sampled at time T relative to the origin of the respective cycle. The method further includes associating data indicative of the plurality of n-bit samples to N bins according to the corresponding sampled values, wherein N is a function of n, and calculating data indicative of a number of samples for each bin, giving rise to data indicative N-bins histogram or normalized N-bins histogram. The method further includes determining the signal value based on the data indicative of the N-bins histogram or normalized N-bins histogram.

System and a method for extracting low-level signals from hi-level noisy signals

There are provided a security inspection system comprising ultra-wideband transmitters () and receivers () and a method of security inspection. The method comprises scanning a walk-through inspection space () along with an inspected person passing there through to yield collected data informative of scattered signals in association with respective channels, wherein the ultra-wideband transmitters and receivers are arranged at both sides of the inspection space. The method further comprises dividing the inspection space into a plurality of subspaces such that each voxel in the inspection space belongs to one and only one subspace, providing image reconstruction separately for each subspace of the plurality of the subspaces, wherein image reconstruction for voxels residing in a given subspace is provided using collected data corresponding to a set of channels selected for the given subspace in accordance with predefined rules; and using image reconstruction results to detect a concealed object.

Method of walk-through security inspection and system thereof

There are provided an ultra-wideband radar imaging system comprising an antenna with at least one receiver and a plurality of transmitters operating in multi-static mode, method of operating thereof and volume visualization unit to be used in conjunction with the multi-static ultra-wideband radar imaging system. The method comprises: receiving by said at least one receiver a plurality of signals, each respectively representing return data in a channel associated with the receiver and one of the transmitters among said plurality of transmitters, thus giving rise to a plurality of spatial data channels; among said plurality of spatial data channels selecting data channels for further processing; and providing volume visualization by processing data corresponding merely to the selected spatial data channels.

System and method for volume visualization in ultra-wideband radar imaging system

An antenna arrangement for generating and receiving terahertz radiation is described. The arrangement comprises a substrate comprising a photoconductive material and a pair of electrodes provided on the photoconductive material. Each electrode includes a plurality of elongate fingers spaced apart from each other which are arranged in a parallel relation and define finger gaps therebetween. The fingers of one electrode are located within the finger gaps formed between the spaced apart fingers of another electrode so that two neighboring fingers belong to different electrodes. The fingers of each electrode have at least one protrusion extending away from lateral sides of the fingers within the finger gap. Each protrusion is slanted with respect to the corresponding finger direction, and directed towards a neighboring slanted protrusion extending from the neighboring finger such that end edges of the neighboring protrusions extending from the neighboring fingers approximately face one another, thereby defining a protrusion gap between end edges of the facing protrusions.

Terahertz antenna arrangement

A high frequency radiation transceiver is presented. The transceiver includes an electrodes' arrangement, including two or more electrodes, where two of said electrodes are accommodated in a spaced-apart relationship defining a cavity for free space propagation of electrons between them. One of said two electrodes is configured to be responsive to an external input optical signal to emit an electron flux towards the other electrode. Said two or more electrodes are configured to define first and second electrode portions, the first portion having at least a region thereof exposed to said electron flux and operable as an antenna feeding port causing an electric current in said second portion and the second portion being configured and operable as an antenna radiating portion.

Antenna for use in THz transceivers

A high frequency radiation transceiver is presented. The transceiver comprises an electrodes' arrangement, comprising two or more electrodes, where two of said electrodes are accommodated in a spaced-apart relationship defining a cavity for free space propagation of electrons between them. An acquisition channel () includes a UWB sampler block () coupled to an analog integration block () further coupled to a digital integration block () via an analog/digital converter ().
