In general, systems and methods for aiming of a treatment tool at a target area and/or aligning of the treatment tool with respect to an imaging device are disclosed. The system may determine a position and orientation of the treatment tool with respect to the imaging device and to display, on a display, a visual indicator that indicates the determined position and orientation of the treatment tool. A user may aim and/or align the treatment tool based on the visual indicator displayed on the display.

Systems and methods for aiming and aligning of a treatment tool within an X-ray device or an ultrasound device environment

Apparatus, methods and kits are provided for X-ray guided focused ultrasound treatment that simplify focused ultrasound treatment. The apparatus comprises an arm, a cradle, a focused ultrasound (FUS) transducer having a central axis that is affixed in to the cradle and configured to transmit an ultrasound therapeutic energy beam to a treatment location within a patient and an imaging workstation connected to an X-ray imaging unit. The FUS is further connected to a controller to control application of the FUS. The kits are utilizing coupling member (s).

Image guided focused ultrasound treatment device and aiming apparatus

Devices, systems, kits and methods are provided, that simplify focused ultrasound treatment. Devices comprise a supporting structure and a focused ultrasound (FUS) transducer having a central axis that is affixed to the supporting structure. Devices may further comprise an imaging ultrasound transducer and/or an x-ray aim, that may be attached to the supporting structure along the central axis of the FUS transducer. The FUS transducer is connected to a controller configured to control application of focused ultrasound by the transducer and may be associated with an imaging unit for imaging the treatment region using ultrasound and/or x-ray image data. The devices are hand held and easy to manipulate and aim correctly, utilizing coupling member(s) as well as feedback from the concurrently imaged treatment region.
