Techniques are described for using computing devices to perform automated operations related to providing visual information of multiple types in an integrated manner about a building or other defined area. The techniques may include generating and presenting a GUI (graphical user interface) on a client device that includes a computer model of the building's interior with one or more first types of information (e.g., in a first pane of the GUI), and simultaneously presenting other types of related information about the building interior (e.g., in additional separate GUI pane(s)) that is coordinated with the first type(s) of information being currently displayed. The computer model may be a 3D (three-dimensional) or 2.5D representation generated after the house is built and showing the actual house's interior (e.g., walls, furniture, etc.), and may be displayed to a user of a client computing device in a displayed GUI with various user-selectable controls.

Architecture that enables the preservation of label readability in a scene (e.g., map, map tiles, graphical background, etc.) by way of label orientation relative to a fixed heading on a plane or curved surface. After identifying an initial fixed heading, movement of the camera (e.g., zoom-in, zoom-out, position change, etc.) in the scene along that heading without changing the camera heading as measured relative to a fixed point does not alter label orientation. In a mapping implementation, after identifying an initial fixed camera heading over terrain of the Earth, movement of the camera (e.g., zoom-in, zoom-out, position change, etc.) in the scene without changing the camera heading as measured relative to some fixed point does not change label orientation. The orientation of labels may be changed if the heading of the camera is altered, but this change is delayed until camera movement quiesces.

Systems and methods for sharing a map context of an originating computer user with a plurality of other users is presented. An originating user identifies at least some of a plurality of result cards displayed in conjunction with a map displayed in a browser view with one or more other users. A shared URL is generated according to the map context comprising at least the selected result cards. The shared URL is configured such that navigation by another browser on another computing device according to the shared URL displays the map context in a browser view of the another browser and the selected result cards in conjunction with the map in the browser view.

Various embodiments relating to displaying viewpoints from a point of interest are disclosed. One embodiment includes displaying an entry point that includes a link to a view of a three dimensional scene from a point of interest, receiving a selection of the entry point from the user, retrieving a predetermined path of a plurality of predetermined viewpoints located around the point of interest, displaying the view of the three dimensional scene, the view being a rendering of the three dimensional scene from a first predetermined viewpoint in the plurality of predetermined viewpoints, displaying an interaction interface including a control to scroll along the predetermined path to a next location on the predetermined path, receiving a selection of the control, and displaying a second view of the three dimensional scene, the second view being a rendering of the three dimensional scene from the next location.

Various embodiments present a combined visual entity that represents overlapping visual entities. The combined visual entity can include a primary visualization that represents one of the overlapping visual entities and annotations that represent others of the overlapping visual entities. For example, a map view can include multiple geographical entities that overlap. A primary visualization can be rendered that represents one of the multiple geographical entities. The primary visualization can be visually annotated (e.g., with symbols, letters, or other visual indicators) to indicate others of the multiple geographical entities. In some embodiments, a zoom operation can cause visual entities to be added and/or removed from the combined visual entity.

Search results may be rendered on a map utilizing one or more points of interest. An individual point of interest may include a casing layer and a core layer. Casing layers and/or core layers may be configured to change in size and color at different levels of detail associated with zoom operations. Zoom operations may further include de-clustering overlapping points of interest to eliminate overlap. A hover input associated with a cluster may render a numerical value associated with a corresponding number of points of interest that appear in the cluster. Various embodiments provide a visual language that enables a continuous representation, at different levels of detail, that range from a single discrete point to multiple points that are near each other or clustered together to unify the look-and-feel of represented elements and provide interactive consistency across various map properties and platforms.

One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for kinetic mapping. A spatial interface, such as a map, may represent information according to an overview scale. If the spatial interface comprises a substantial amount of uninteresting content, such as a 100 mile stretch of highway, compared to interesting content, such as a 1 mile complex detour after the highway, then the interesting content may not be displayed at an adequate level of detail due to being displayed at the same overview scale as the 100 mile stretch of highway. Accordingly, points of interest within the spatial interface may be identified and encapsulated to create portals representing such information at relatively higher levels of detail. A kinetic geospatial interface comprising the portals (e.g., the detour) at a focused scale and non-portal information (e.g., the highway) at a collapsed scale (e.g., a lower level of detail than the focused scale) is generated.
