A vibration transducer has a pressure sleeve fastenable directly or indirectly on a structural component part causing vibrations, a sensor element which is held at the pressure sleeve on a radial outer side with an axial pretensioning, a plurality of contact disks including at least one contact disk provided with a radial inclination so as to form a plate spring for generating the axial pretensioning of the sensor element, and a seismic mass provided with an internal thread and screwable directly to the pressure sleeve for clamping the sensor element.

In a pressure sleeve in particular a vibration pickup, an abutment surface is formed as a circumferential ring at a location radially spaced from a central point. Therefore, the pressure sleeve can be fully pressed against the structure to be monitored by a mounting screw. Therefore a sensor provided with the pressure sleeve can approximately linearily extending and disturbance measuring signals.

A knock sensor for indirect or direct fixing to an internal combustion engine has a housing (10) with a pressure sleeve (11) on the outer side of which a piezoceramic disk, a seismic mass (16), the contact disks (14), and the insulating disks (13) are arranged. The insulating disks (13) or the piezoelectrical disk (15) are or is made slightly electrically conductive so that the voltage spikes which occur due to the pyroelectrical effect can be easily eliminated. In this way, faulty measuring and interference can be avoided in the electrical circuit connected to the knock sensor.

A housing having an inner part radially inside of an outer part so as to form a hollow space therebetween. The outer part has two opposite end portions which radially extend inward toward the inner part so as to further define the hollow space. The end portions and the inner part form interengaging projections and grooves. The inner and outer parts are composed of different materials with different heat expansion coefficients. The interengaging projections and grooves are thermally expanded against each other to effect a moisture-tight sealing of the hollow space.
