A spinning machine and method of operation include a plurality of adjacently arranged workstations, each workstation having one of a spinning device or a suction nozzle to which a process vacuum is applied during spinning operation. A vacuum duct extends along the workstations for supplying the spinning devices or the suction nozzles with the process vacuum. A maintenance unit is displaceable along the workstations, the maintenance unit including a pneumatic working element and a vacuum line to supply the pneumatic working element with vacuum. A closeable connection opening is at each of the spinning devices or the suction nozzles, the connection opening connected to the process vacuum. The maintenance unit includes a suction head that is advanceable toward the connection opening and is connected to the vacuum line.

A method for automatically piecing a thread at a workstation of a textile machine, includes seeking an end of the thread on a surface of a bobbin with a suction nozzle and unwinding the thread from the bobbin counter to a regular draw-off direction of the thread and sucking the thread into the suction nozzle. The bobbin is driven in a direction of reverse rotation with a drive. A thread loop is draw-opened in the thread and moved towards a piecing unit via movement of a feeder unit. The bobbin is driven in the direction of reverse rotation during the drawing-open of the thread loop such that the thread is unwound from the bobbin. A speed of reverse rotation of the bobbin is coordinated with movement of the feeder unit.

Method for automatically piecing a thread at a workstation of a textile machine, and textile machine

A method at a workstation of a spinning machine or winding machine supplies an auxiliary thread from a thread nozzle to a suction assigned to the workstation, the auxiliary thread stretched between the thread nozzle and the suction. The auxiliary thread is severed to form a thread section protruding into the suction and a thread section extending into the thread nozzle, wherein the thread section protruding into the suction is carried away by the suction. The thread section extending into the thread nozzle is grasped with a thread receiver such that the thread section extending into the thread nozzle extends between the thread nozzle and the thread receiver. The thread section extending into the thread nozzle is severed to form a thread section remaining in the thread nozzle and a thread section coming from the thread receiver. The thread section coming from the thread receiver is transferred to the suction of the workstation. The thread section coming from the thread receiver is grasped with a capture arrangement adjacent a tube at the workstation prior to starting a process of winding the thread section coming from the thread receiver onto the tube.

A device for piecing a thread at a workstation of a textile machine includes a suction nozzle configured to pick up a thread end of the thread from a bobbin, the suction nozzle including an entry opening for the thread. A feeder unit is movable with respect to the suction nozzle and includes a cover element configured to close the entry opening in a first position (I) of the feeder unit and to unblock the entry opening in a second position (II) of the feeder unit. The cover element includes a thread-guiding element having an open contour.

A suction device provides a negative spinning pressure at the work stations and includes a negative pressure source arranged at each of the two front-side ends of the rotor spinning machine. Each negative pressure source is connected to a separate negative pressure channel that extends in a longitudinal direction of the rotor spinning machine only over a part of a total number of the work stations. Each work station includes an individual drive for the spinning rotor.

Each work station has a draw-off device, and an individual drive for the draw-off device. A suction device generates negative pressure at the work stations and includes at least one negative pressure source and at least two negative pressure channels. A system and associated operational method are provided to extract a thread by suction from a bobbin and for re-attachment of a thread end of the thread to a new thread. The thread is extracted from the bobbin by sucking the thread in against its spooling direction on the bobbin through a suction nozzle and into an extraction port of an extraction system. A loop is subsequently formed in the thread, and the thread is separated in the area of the loop. One thread end of the separated thread is discharged into an extraction port, and the other thread end coming from the bobbin is prepared for re-attachment to a new thread. Upon being extracted by suction into the extraction system, the thread is guided through an eyelet located in a run of the thread to the extraction port and the eyelet, together with the thread, is moved out of the run of the thread to the extraction port such that the thread forms the loop between the bobbin, the eyelet, and the extraction port.

A disintegrator roll for use in a textile spinning machine, such as an open-end spinning machine, includes a roll body releasably mounted onto a drive shaft. A fittings carrier with associated fittings is releasably mounted on the roll body. A releasable connection apparatus is operably disposed between either the fittings carrier and the roll body or the roll body and the drive shaft. The connection apparatus is actuated by an axial force applied generally parallel to the drive shaft.

The invention concerns an open-end spinning apparatus with a spin-rotor, the shaft of which is supported by an aerostatic, radial bearing with an air gap between the bearing assembly and the shaft. A spinning rotor of an open-end spinning device is slowed down for piecing to a low rotational piecing speed and is then accelerated to the operating speed. For this purpose, the spinning rotor or an element in driving connection with it is presented a drive transmission device from a service unit by means of which the spinning rotor can be switched from normal production speed to a reduced piecing speed and back. In this process, the drive transmission device can be driven either by a driving apparatus installed on the service unit or by a drive belt extending within spinning machine. The driving apparatus mounted on the service unit is connected to a control device for the control of the evolution of the rotational speed of the spinning rotor. The spinning rotor is driven according to a rotational speed course controlled by means of a program applied by the control device during the time when its rotational speed deviates from its operating speed.

The invention concerns a thread guide tube with a passage for the guidance of a thread exiting the thread forming zone of a spinning machine. The tube possessing a first section which is proximal to the thread forming zone, and a second section which is remote from the thread forming zone. A winding process for winding yarn into a cross-wound bobbin in the textile machine includes depositing the yarn on a bobbin in a transversing stroke by a transversing movement of a yarn guide. The process includes intermittently decreasing the traversing stroke from a maximum value to a minimum value and then increasing the value of the traversing stroke from the minimum value back to a relatively constant maximum value and holding the stroke at the maximum value for a predetermined period of time. The traversing frequency of the yarn guide is decreased to a relatively constant minimum value substantially simultaneously with the increasing of the traversing stroke from the minimum value back to the relatively constant maximum value. The traversing frequency is maintained at the constant minimum value for a predetermined period of time. The traversing frequency of the yarn guide is then increased from the constant minimum value after the predetermined period of time. The duration of the decreasing of the traversing frequency of the yarn guide is shorter than the duration of the maximum value of the traversing stroke.
