An interspinous process spacer for implantation in an interspinous space between a superior spinous process and an inferior spinous process includes a balloon-like body, a first deployable protrusion and a second deployable protrusion. The body has a distal end, a proximal end and a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal and distal ends. The spacer is arrangeable in an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration. The first deployable protrusion is mounted proximate the proximal end and the second deployable protrusion is mounted proximate the distal end. The first and second deployable protrusions are oriented generally parallel to the longitudinal axis in the unexpanded configuration and generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis in the expanded configuration.

Minimally invasive interspinous process spacer implants and methods

A vertebral body replacement apparatus includes an outer body member having a first end, a second end, and an opening, and an inner body member having a first end, a second end, and an inner surface defining an opening. The first end of the inner body member is received in the opening of the outer body member such that the inner body member and the outer body member are movable relative to one another. A support member has a first end secured within the inner body member and a second end extending a distance beyond the inner body member. The second end of the support member deflects relative to the first end of the outer body member in response to a force applied thereto and returns to a substantially non-deflected condition upon release of the force.

Vertebral body replacement apparatus

An endplate for a vertebral implant comprises a base portion connectable to one end of a support body and a bone contact portion. The bone contact portion including a plurality of bone contact sections, each of which has a bone contact surface and extends from the base portion in such a way that each of the bone contact sections is deflectable relative to the base portion independently of an adjacent one of the bone contact sections when a compressive load is applied to the bone contact surfaces of the bone contact sections.
