An acoustic device including a first passive radiator structure and a second passive radiator structure is provided. The first passive radiator structure includes a passive diaphragm mechanically coupled to a first enclosure member via a first flexible suspension element, and is configured to vibrate relative to the first enclosure member. The second passive radiator structure includes a second enclosure member, and is configured to vibrate relative to the first enclosure member. The second passive radiator structure further includes a second flexible suspension element mechanically coupled to the first enclosure member and the second enclosure member. The second passive radiator structure further includes an active electro-acoustic transducer mechanically coupled to the second enclosure member. The second passive radiator structure moves when the active electro-acoustic transducer vibrates. A first mass of the first passive radiator structure is less than a second mass of the second passive radiator structure. During operation, the first enclosure member experiences substantially no vibrations.

Balanced acoustic device with passive radiators

A system includes a micro-mobility device that is configured to support a user on a mechanical structure of the micro-mobility device and a directional acoustic radiating device carried by the mechanical structure of the micro-mobility device and comprising a first acoustic driver that is acoustically coupled to a first passive directional device so as to radiate acoustic energy into the first passive directional device. The first passive directional device comprises an opening in a perimeter of the first passive directional device that extends along a length of the first passive directional device and through which acoustic energy is radiated to an environment to provide a direction of maximum radiation of the first passive directional device.

A loudspeaker includes a first electro-acoustic driver that creates sound waves when operated, and a housing. A first baffle is coupled to the housing and the first electro-acoustic driver. A first speaker grille covers the first electro-acoustic driver. A first gasket is disposed between the first baffle and the first speaker grille. The first gasket comprises a first set of energy directors to reduce buzzing between the first gasket and the first baffle.

An electric musical instrument includes a body and a resonant stack. The resonant stack includes a bridge having a bridge mass and at least a first spring having a first spring constant, in which the first spring is positioned between the bridge and the body. The resonant stack has at least one resonant frequency that is dependent on the bridge mass and the first spring constant. The electric musical instrument includes a plurality of strings that extend across at least a portion of the body, in which each string has a vibrating length defined at least in part by the bridge. The electric musical instrument includes at least a first pickup device to detect vibrations of the strings and generate a first pickup signal, and at least a second pickup device to detect movements of the bridge and generate a second pickup signal.

An electric musical instrument includes a body having a front side and a rear side, a plurality of strings extending across at least a portion of the front side of the body, and at least one electric pickup to detect vibrations of the strings and generate a pickup signal. The instrument includes at least one speaker mounted at the rear side of the body, in which the speaker includes an acoustic driver and an acoustic deflector. The acoustic deflector is configured to receive acoustic energy propagating from the acoustic driver and deflect at least a portion of the acoustic energy. The instrument includes an amplifier to amplify the pickup signal to generate an amplified pickup signal, and drive the at least one speaker based on the amplified pickup signal.

An acoustic device includes first and second acoustic cavities which are air tight. A first passive radiator includes a first passive radiator diaphragm that has a rear surface which is exposed to the first acoustic cavity. A second passive radiator includes a first passive radiator diaphragm having a front surface which is exposed to the first acoustic cavity, and a rear surface which is exposed to the second acoustic cavity. A first electro-acoustic transducer is supported on the second passive radiator diaphragm. The first electro-acoustic transducer is arranged such that a first radiating surface of the first electro-acoustic transducer radiates acoustic energy into the first acoustic chamber and a second radiating surface of the first electro-acoustic transducer radiates acoustic energy into the second acoustic chamber.

An open audio device with a housing that is configured to be worn on the torso and an acoustic transducer carried by the housing, the acoustic transducer configured to either radiate sound outwardly of the housing or convert received sound into an electrical signal. A structure is coupled to the housing. The structure is proximate to the acoustic transducer. The structure is constructed and arranged to inhibit radiated sound or received sound from being interrupted by a flexible sheet material, such as clothing, located over the housing.

Open audio device with reduced sound attenuation

An acoustic device with a housing that is configured to be worn draped over the shoulders of a user in a deployed configuration. The housing includes an intermediate portion with opposed first and second ends, a first leg portion that depends from the first end of the intermediate portion, and a second leg portion that depends from the second end of the intermediate portion, wherein each leg portion comprises a distal end spaced farthest from the intermediate portion. The two leg portions can be essentially identical. An acoustic driver is carried by each leg portion and is configured to project sound outwardly from the housing. An acoustic waveguide is located entirely in each leg portion. A waveguide is acoustically coupled to each driver. A waveguide outlet is located in the same leg as the driver and its associated waveguide. The outlets are configured to project outwardly from the housing sound from the driver that was acoustically coupled to the waveguide. Each waveguide extends from the driver, along the leg portion to proximate the intermediate portion, and then turns and extends back along the leg portion to the waveguide outlet.

Acoustic device

An acoustic transducer with an acoustic element that emits or receives front-side acoustic radiation from its front side, and emits or receives rear-side acoustic radiation from its rear side. A housing directs the front-side acoustic radiation and the rear-side acoustic radiation. A plurality of sound-conducting vents in the housing allow sound to enter the housing or allow sound to leave the housing. A distance between vents defines an effective length of an acoustic dipole. The housing and its vents are constructed and arranged such that the effective dipole length is frequency dependent.

Acoustic transducer

An audio device with a structure such as an acoustic waveguide, and first and second spaced acoustic transducers that are carried by the structure. A controller is adapted to change the location of the dominant sound source produced by the transducers together in the far field. The device can also be used in a method of facilitating speech communication between two people who speak different languages.

Audio device

An acoustic device that has a neck loop that is constructed and arranged to be worn around the neck. The neck loop includes a housing with a first acoustic waveguide having a first sound outlet opening, and a second acoustic waveguide having a second sound outlet opening. There is a first open-backed acoustic driver acoustically coupled to the first waveguide and a second open-backed acoustic driver acoustically coupled to the second waveguide.

An acoustic device that is adapted to be worn on the body of a user, with a first acoustic transducer and a second acoustic transducer, where the first transducer is closer to the expected location of a first ear of the user than is the second transducer, a third acoustic transducer and a fourth acoustic transducer, where the third transducer is closer to the expected location of a second ear of the user than is the fourth transducer, and a controller that is adapted to independently control the phase and frequency response of the first, second, third and fourth transducers.
