A road finishing machine comprises a screed for producing a paving layer from a paving material, a material bunker for receiving the paving material, a longitudinal conveying device configured to transport the paving material from the material bunker toward the screed, and a transverse distributor auger configured to distribute the paving material transported by the longitudinal conveying device transversely in front of the screed. The transverse distributor auger is mounted in front of a screed basic body of the screed within a transverse distributor channel, which is formed at least in sections by channel plates supported at a chassis of the road finishing machine, and by pre-scrapers attached laterally of a screed basic body of the screed. The road finishing machine further includes at least one suction device with at least one intake line which is configured to suck off aerosols forming during the transverse distribution of the paving material.

A method is provided for adjusting a temperature of a screed plate of a paving screed of a road paver, wherein the paving screed comprises a heating element for heating the screed plate. The method may include measuring temperature of the screed plate over a time interval using a temperature sensor, and adjusting a target temperature of the heating element, depending on a time profile of the temperature of the screed plate, using a control unit of the road paver.

A construction machine, which is a feeder vehicle or a road finisher, comprises an operating platform, a material hopper, a conveyor belt system and an electronic control system. The conveyor belt system comprises a conveyor belt and one or more weight sensors which are configured to measure weight force of paving material located on the conveyor belt. In addition, the conveyor belt system comprises one or more inclination sensors which are configured to measure an inclination angle and/or a roll angle of the conveyor belt system. The electronic control system is configured to receive and process data from the one or more weight sensors and the one or more inclination sensors to calculate a mass of the paving material.

A road paver comprises a generator, a control device and a screed, the screed comprising a basic screed and being suited to be modified, by selectively attaching or detaching broadening parts, from a first to at least a second, different screed configuration. The basic screed and the broadening parts each comprise one compacting unit and one electric heating element to be supplied with power from the generator for heating the compacting unit to prevent the laying material from adhering to the compacting unit and to finish a high-quality road pavement. The control device is configured to individually switch on or off each one of the two resistance wire windings of the heating element of the basic screed depending on the screed configuration determined by the control device to distribute electrical power generated by the generator to the individual resistance wire windings.

A method for laying down a pavement in which a compaction unit such as a tamper pre-compacts the paving material with a selectable stroke and at a selectable frequency while the pavement having a selectable pavement thickness is in the process of being laid down at a selectable paving speed, the stroke of the compaction unit is automatically adjustable in response to paving parameters, such as the paving speed and/or the pavement thickness, along a characteristic curve or in a characteristic map. A tamper of a screed having an eccentric shaft including an eccentric section and an eccentric bushing rotatably mounted in a connecting rod driving a tamper bar. The stroke of the tamper bar is adjustable by a relative rotation between the eccentric shaft and the eccentric bushing, and a tappet and a preselection area with two tappet stop positions defining two different tamper bar strokes are provided between the eccentric shaft and the eccentric bushing, enabling adjustment of the tappet to each tappet stop position, by reversing the direction of rotation of the eccentric shaft to switch between the two strokes.

In a screed with a basic screed and at least one extendable screed movable relative to the basic screed with a hydraulic cylinder and an electro-hydraulic control comprising a magnet-actuated directional control valve for at least controlling the direction of the hydraulic cylinder, the directional control valve for changing the rate of motion of the hydraulic cylinder is guided by an operator or automatically and is a proportional directional control valve (W) with proportional-electric direct actuation or proportional-electric-hydraulic pilot control. The proportional directional control valve for the hydraulic cylinder is connected on the actuation side with an electro-hydraulic control of a hydraulic system of the road finishing machine.

A road paver F has a paving screed E the working width of which can be adjusted continuously. In order to further enlarge the working width in steps at least one paving screed extension can be mounted. A distributing auger is supported in a distributing auger support. Distributing auger extensions can be mounted to the distributing auger. Scraper blades are arranged in casting travelling direction behind distributing auger. At least a scraper blade section functionally associated to a mounted paving screed extension is carried by a channel sheet steel plate being part of the mounted distributing auger extension. The scraper blade section can be adjusted in height direction together with the distributing auger support via a drive which can be remotely controlled during a casting process.

According to a method for laying a paving mat with a paving screed, the paving mat comprising a lane and a downwardly inclined slope beginning at a transition to the outside, the paving screed comprising a base screed and at least one extension screed which is extendable and retractable by a sliding motion in a sliding direction parallel to the base screed for varying the working width of the paving screed, the base screed and the extension screed having sole plates at the lower sides, with the sole plate of the extension screed being inclined laterally for forming the slope with the angle of the slope, a lateral position of the transition is first set relative to the base screed, during or after setting the lateral position a height difference is measured perpendicular to the planum between a fixed measuring location at the base screed and a location along a reference line extending parallel to the sole plate of the extension screed, the measured height difference being converted into a target value, and in the case of a variation of the working width and/or of the angle an occurring deviation of the height difference from the target value as caused by the variation is measured and automatically is corrected by a simultaneous height adaptation of the sole plate of the extension to the target value in order to maintain the set lateral position of the transition stationary.

Paving screed

A paving screed comprises a base screed and extension screeds each of which is support via an extension guiding structure at a guidance fixed in the base screed such that each extension screed can be extended and retracted. A multiple point suspension is provided between the extension guiding structure and the guidance. A frame carrying the sole plate of the extension screed A is arranged below the extension guiding structure. Substantially vertical adjustment assemblies make it possible to adjust the height position of the frame via drives. A lateral inclination adjustment assembly is provided structurally separated from the adjustment assemblies either for the frame or within the frame for the sole plate of the extension screed.
