The invention relates to a vertical bagging machine (), equipped with a first linear motor () for displacing a transversal seal unit () in a first direction, preferably vertically (), and a second linear motor () for executing a displacement in a second direction, preferably horizontally (), in order to displace a heat-sealing jaw () in the latter direction or to cause two heat-sealing jaws () to be displaced against one another by means of a gear (). The linear motors () are interconnected () by means of a cross formation. Each linear motor () consists of a primary part () and a secondary part (). The cross formation () forms a stable connection for the linear motors () that act in displacement directions running perpendicularly to one another

Vertical bagging machine comprising two linear motors

To be able to weld different items, in particular films of different thickness and composition, in an optimized way in each case, it is proposed in the case of a welding jaw circulating along a closed path, for example a transverse welding jaw of a vertical tubular bag machine, to provide a sealing time factor (Kt) that can be set as desired within an open interval from zero to one and is equal to a quotient of a sealing time (ts) and a cycle time (tz) for a circulation of the welding jaw.

Method and apparatus for moving a welding jaw

In order to be able to realize complicated jaw movements in a device for welding of a foil tube, comprising two welding jaws, which can be moved opposingly and clamp the foil tube between one another, whereby a linear motor is provided as the jaw drive, it is suggested that the gearing houses a cam plate connected to a movable part of the linear drive, that the cam plate has two separate curves, and that each one cam connected to a jaw carrier is guided along a curve.

Device for welding of a foil tube

In order to realize in a device for welding of a foil tube, comprising two welding jaws, which can be moved against one another and clamp the foil tube between one another, a simple gearing, it is suggested that two rods are provided in the gearing, that each rod is connected on the one side through a joint provided on a movable part of a linear drive to the part movable transversely with respect to the direction of movement of the welding jaws, and that each rod is connected on the other side to a joint of a jaw carrier.

In order to achieve, in a device for welding of a foil tube comprising two welding jaws, which can be moved against one another and clamp the foil tube between one another, a relatively low building height of the device and a high welding force, it is suggested that a gearing has four rods, of which two inner rods are pivotally fastened through a stationary joint, and two outer rods are each connected through one joint to an inner rod and a further joint to a jaw carrier, and that a movable part of a linear drive is connected to the inner rods through a connecting member in order to pivot the inner rods and thus the jaw carriers away from one another or toward one another during a movement of the movable part along its active line.

A carrier ( ) with articles ( ) provided thereon is moved quickly toward a package ( ) and is slowed down at the package ( ) such that by utilizing the articles ( ) kinetic energy, they slide off the carrier ( ) and move into the package ( ). The carrier ( ) can thus be returned to an article receiving position during the feed-in process for the articles ( ) in order to receive new articles ( ), which can be, for example filled tubular bags.

Device and method for feeding an article or several articles into a package

In order to reduce the technical input for a device for packaging, for example a horizontal bagging machine, it is suggested to provide two sealing jaws which act against one another and weld a foil web, only one sealing jaw for a rotating operation. The second sealing jaw is co-moved along a path with the first sealing jaw in transport direction of the foil path and is moved back in opposite direction of the foil web. The second sealing jaw is fastened on a carriage which is moved along a horizontal rail, and a carrier connection transfers the component of the rotation motion of the first sealing jaw onto the second sealing jaw, which component extends in the foil transport direction.

Device for packaging

A downwardly acting air-outlet nozzle (,) is provided in a device (,) for packaging between a funnel (,) and a fill pipe (,) for the purpose of producing an air stream and to thus enable filler to fall quicker through the fill pipe (,). In order to be able to determine and regulate the pressure (P) in the lower area of the foil tube, the pressure P is determined by means of a measuring device (,) and a measured-value indicator (,). The measuring device (,) can include a hollow pipe (,), which guides the pressure (P) to a measuring device (,). Tubular bags with a specific interior pressure can be manufactured with the device (,).

Packaging device

In order to be able to quickly and inexpensively feed articles, in particular bags, into spaces, for example insides of folding boxes of a continuously moving, transporting device, the speed of the transporting device is slower during a feed-in operation than the speed of the transporting device outside of the feed-in operation. A control device is provided in a device for feeding in the articles in order to control this change in speed.

Method and device for feeding of articles into a moving, rotating transporting device

In order to further accelerate a pourable product (,) falling into a fill pipe (,) or in order to compress the particle cluster of the product (,), it is suggested to blow air in timed intervals into the fill pipe (,). An air flap (,) is operated for this purpose in a pipe (,) between a blower (,) and the fill pipe (,) by means of a drive,. A control device (,) controls the drive (,) dependent on a packaging parameter, for example, at a point in time when the product (,) is in a position of the free fall, which position is recognized by a sensor (,).

Device and method for packaging

In a tubular bagging machine with two cross-sealing jaws,, which are movable toward one another and thereby cross-weld a foil tube, product that moves between the cross-sealing jaws,, interferes with the cross seam, and results in a leaky cross-seam of a tubular bag. In order to reliably recognize entrapped product,, it is suggested to measure the performance resistance of the servomotor on the cross-sealing jaws,, which are moved by a servomotor drive,, in order to determine product entrapment. The machine controller,can additionally receive from the drive,a value for the jaw position, which position value corresponds to a desired momentary jaw pressure. A product entrapment is determined from a high or measured performance resistance value from the desired value. A reliable product entrapment recognition is achieved through the use of the light-metal cross-sealing jaw.

Tubular bagging machine

A downwardly acting air-outlet nozzle is provided in a device for packaging between a funnel and a fill pipe for the purpose of creating air flow and to thus cause a fill material to drop quicker through the fill pipe. It is possible through the special arrangement of the air-outlet nozzle to utilize common funnels and fill pipes in such a device and to achieve positive fill material acceleration.

In a packaging machine 2 with a movable part 27, which can be moved toward a packaging 26 or a product to be packaged, and a carrier movable with the part 27 and connected to the part 27, the part 27 and/or the carrier consists of a magnesium alloy 28, for example Mg Ag3 Se2 Zr1 or Mg A19 Zn1. A magnesium alloy 28 has low mass, low moment of inertia, high capability to conduct heat, high heat capacity and good stiffness. It can also be used for heated, package-building elements, for example, a longitudinal sealing jaw 33 movable toward a foil tube 6, a cross-sealing jaw 16, 17 or a cutting knife 25. Relatively small forces are needed for moving a part 27 and/or a carrier 23 consisting of a magnesium alloy 28, which makes the packaging machine 2 less expensive to operate.

Packaging machine

The lower end 11 of a foil tube 6 rests in a vertical tubular bagging machine 1 without any mechanical tension from the remainder of the foil tube 6 on a scale 17. The scale 17 weighs the end 11 together with dosed product portion of a flowable product, which portion is fed into the end 11. The measured value of the scale is delivered to a volumetric dosing device 20. The dosing device 20 changes the mass of the dosed product portion dependent on measured values of the scale 17. The invention improves the packaging speed and the dosing exactness, in particular for dosed masses of less than 5 kg. of flowable product, for example powders.

The welding jaws 7, 8 in a tubular bagging machine 1 for the creation of cross seams are driven by a drive 3 acting perpendicularly with respect to the foil-transporting direction 4 through a movable element 11. The jaw force (sealing force) is clearly increased through a lever 15 rotatable about a pivot point 17, and is precisely adapted to the requirements of a particle bagging operation. A drive with a small force, for example a linear motor 9, can be utilized in an economical manner in the tubular bagging machine of the invention. By providing a second drive, and connecting this drive to the lever (15), any desired motion path curves of the cross jaws and a continuous run sequence of the machine can be achieved. If the second drive stopped, then one has an intermittent tubular bagging machine.
