An automatic tire sipe forming machine for forming sipes of uniform depths and at uniform intervals across the circumferential surface of a tire. The automatic tire sipe forming machine includes means for indexing a tire a fixed rotational interval and a reciprocating mechanism for forming the sipes. The automatic tire sipe forming machine further includes means for changing the angle of the sipes and for accommodating various widths and sizes of tires.

A deck for a printing press includes first and second rolls which are mounted for linear movement on a pair of spaced parallel rails. A rotatable ball screw moves the rolls along the rails. The axis of the screw substantially intersects the axes of the rolls.

A dryer for a printing press uses an electric heater to heat air that flows into an air plenum. The heated air flows out of the plenum at high velocity through an array of orifices that have a diameter of about 0.040 inch. The high velocity air impinges on ink which is printed on a web by the press.

Dryer for flexographic and gravure printing

A preprinted web having a plurality of first repeating images is reprinted with a plurality of second repeating images which are in register with the first images. A register mark is printed on the web for each of the first images. When the web is reprinted, the positions of the register marks are sensed and compared with the positions of the second images, and the unwind tension of the web is adjusted to maintain the relative positions substantially constant.
