Proposed is a lighting system comprising: at least one laser adapted to output light; a pixelated luminous screen for emitting light when excited by incident light; and at least one optical component adapted to redirect and distribute light from the at least one laser to the pixelated luminous screen. The pixelated luminous screen comprises: a plurality of luminous pixels arranged adjacent each other with separated side edges, each pixel comprising luminous material; and a heat sink formed from thermally conductive material. The heat sink is positioned between the plurality of luminous pixels such that it contacts the adjacent side edges of the pixels.

Lighting system

The present inventions relates to an illumination device, in particular for a vehicle headlight. The device comprises at least one light source, a wavelength converting member converting at least part of the light of the light source to light of a different wavelength, a first and a second light guiding element between the light source and the wavelength converting member, and a reflective member being attached to the wavelength converting member. The second light guiding element is designed to guide the light emitted by the light source and having passed through the first light guiding element to the wavelength converting member and to guide the converted light which has been reflected at the reflective member to the first light guiding element. The first light guiding element comprises at least one first guiding structure guiding the light emitted by the light source to the second light guiding element. The first light guiding element also comprises at least one second guiding structure guiding the converted light which has been passed through the second guiding structure to an outcoupling surface of the first light guiding element. The proposed illumination device allows the use of light sources with high luminance and can be realized in a compact manner.

Illumination device for a vehicle headlight

The invention provides a lighting device comprising a lighting unit, wherein the lighting unit comprises a light source configured to generate light source light and a luminescent material configured to convert at least part of the light source light into luminescent material light, wherein the lighting device is configured to generate lighting device light comprising at least part of said luminescent material light, wherein the luminescent material is configured to provide said luminescent material light upon excitation by said light source light in an excitation band (EX) of said luminescent material, wherein the light source is configured to provide said light source light with a full width half maximum (FWHM) of equal to or less than 30 nm, and wherein said light source is configured to excite the luminescent material in an isosbestic point (IP) of said excitation band (EX).

High intensity light source with temperature independent color point

An optical device is provided. The optical device comprises a light converting member arranged to at least party convert incoming light of a first wavelength into light of a second wavelength, to emit light of the second wavelength, and to reflect at least a part of the light of the first wavelength; and a light guide comprising a light entrance and a light exit, the light guide being arranged to guide incoming light of the first wavelength from the light entrance to the light converting member and to guide light emitted and/or reflected from the light converting member to the light exit. The light converting member and the light exit are at opposite surfaces of the light guide. The light converting member and the light exit are arranged along a main optical axis of the light guide, and the light entrance is arranged at a geometrical envelope surface surrounding the main optical axis of the light guide.
