A fuel injector (), in particular a pump-nozzle injector for a diesel engine has an injector body (), which is held in place with a nozzle body () and/or a lower body () by a clamping nut (). The fuel supply conduit of the injector body () is provided with a fuel filter (), which is offset in the longitudinal direction of the fuel injector () in relation to the clamping nut () and is configured independently of said clamping nut () on the fuel injector ().

In order to create a fluid-tight seal relative to a seal seat edge (), especially a cylinder head (), in a sealing device for a fuel injector (), particularly for a nozzle retaining nut () of the fuel injector (), the sealing device has a sealing area () that is provided with a concave zone () having a radially circumferential concave outer contour () which can be made to sealingly rest against the seal seat edge ().
